Message from Mrs. Commesso

September is here, and we are off to a wonderful start! Our Bulldogs are settling into their routines, building relationships, and growing as learners and future leaders.

Thank you to everyone who attended Orientation Night! We hope you received helpful information about your child’s classroom, academics, and resources available to support learning at home. If you were unable to attend, teachers will post a video with the information on their Seesaw or Canvas page. Please contact your child’s teacher with any questions.

If you would like to request an in-person or phone conference, please contact your child’s teacher to schedule a time.

We appreciate your continued partnership and look forward to another great month at Magnolia Parkway Elementary!

Action Needed: School Health Services Consent Form

In accordance with state law, Magnolia ISD requires annual written parent consent for routine school-based health services. These services are typically provided by our school nurse (or designated school staff when immediate support or first aid is needed) to keep students safe, healthy, and ready to learn.

What routine services are included?

  • General first aid, illness support, and heat/injury care

  • Basic checks (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, pupil response)

  • Vision, hearing, and lice screenings

  • Support and monitoring for chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes)

Note: This consent is effective for the current school year and does not replace an individualized health plan or 504 plan. You have the right to decline any service, and any non-routine care will require separate consent.

👉 Please complete the Google Form below—one submission is required for EACH child enrolled.

🐾 Attendance Matters

Being at school every day makes a difference! Each day our Bulldogs are here, they have the opportunity to learn, grow, build relationships, and be part of their classroom community. We appreciate our families helping us build strong attendance habits by making school attendance a priority.

📊 This Month’s Attendance
Campus Attendance: 95.77%
Our goal: 96% 🎯

🏆 Top Grade Level: 4th Grade with 96.8%! Way to SHOW UP!

This year, we have some fun ways to celebrate our students for SHOWING UP!

🏅 Monthly Attendance Badges
Students who have perfect attendance for the month will earn a special attendance badge with their name on it to display on our “We Show Up!” brag boards located in each grade-level hallway.

🍿 Classroom Popcorn Challenge
Also, each homeroom has a “We Show Up Every Day!” attendance tracker. Every day the entire class has 100% attendance, they get to fill in one letter. Once all the letters are filled in, the whole class earns a POPCORN PARTY!

Parents, you are an important part of helping us reach our attendance goals! Unless your child is sick or there is another important reason for them to miss school, please help us make sure they are at school, on time, and ready to learn every day.

Every day matters. Every Bulldog matters. WE LEAD! WE LEARN! WE GROW! WE SHOW UP! 🐾

Catch Up with the Counselor

Happy September! I've really enjoyed meeting all of our new students and hearing about how the summer went for our returning kiddos! In September students will be learning all about Respect during connect. Respect is seeing the value in all people and things and treating them with care.
