Dear Harold Martin School Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I am honored and grateful to begin this year as the principal of Harold Martin School.

As both an educator and a parent in this community, HMS has been home to me for many years. I have had the privilege of serving our students as an instructional assistant, classroom teacher, literacy specialist, and student support specialist. Each of these experiences has strengthened my appreciation for our students, staff, families, and the special community we have built together.

At HMS, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, supported, and challenged. Our staff is committed to creating engaging learning experiences, building strong relationships, and helping every student grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our partnership with families is an essential part of this work. When educators, families, and the community communicate openly, trust one another, and share responsibility, students thrive. We truly are better together.

I look forward to getting to know you, listening to your ideas, and working alongside you throughout the year. Thank you for trusting us with your children. It is a privilege to serve this school community, and I am excited for all that lies ahead.

Alisha Hansen-Proulx, Principal of Maple Street School, and I have been working together to create greater coherence and alignment in our elementary school communications.

On August 3, both schools will send a welcome message to families. Look for classroom teachers and case managers to send welcome letters on or around August 5. As always, please reach out with questions.

You're Invited!

Students and families are warmly invited to join us for a casual Meet the Principals gathering at the Hopkinton Library! Alisha Hansen-Proulx, Principal of Maple Street School, and I are excited to host this community event on Tuesday, August 11, from 4:00–5:00 p.m. If needed due to weather, the rain date will be Wednesday, August 12, from 4:00–5:00 p.m.

Come say hello, enjoy a popsicle, spend time on the playground, and reconnect with friends before the school year begins. Whether you're returning to our schools or joining us for the first time, this is a relaxed opportunity to meet your principals, connect with other families, and kick off the new school year together. We look forward to seeing you there!
