Coweta's Professional Learning
April 2020
My how things have changed!
To the amazing Coweta County teachers and staff members, thank you for your commitment to students during this evolving time of the coronavirus pandemic. Within just a couple of weeks, our way of ensuring student success has dramatically changed. We are developing new skills to help us empower our students to experience success - for life and for school beyond the classroom walls. You truly are inspirational.
This month's newsletter includes a variety of professional learning opportunities and resources for you. While school as we have known it is cancelled, our new norm is shaping. Despite all the emerging changes, we can still continuously learn!
Stay healthy, wash your hands often, and take care of your family members and those around you.

When scoring students’ writing, it can be helpful to share perspective with others who have done a lot of scoring. To that end, GCA’s Kevin Raczynski and his colleagues in GCA’s scoring division will be hosting a series of free live professional learning webinars called “Tips for Scoring Students’ Extended Responses Accurately.”
- Dates, times, and further details will be provided by April 6.
- There will be unique sessions for the opinion/argumentative, informational, and narrative genres.
- Sessions will be held for the following grade bands: 3-5 and 6-12.
- These webinars will also be recorded and made available on GCA’s website.
