Principal's Message
Dear Lord,
Lord, as we begin new term make us ready, attentive and available to hear you.
Thank You for the gift of being able to rise each day knowing that You walk beside us.
Thank You for the gifts of creativity and uniqueness, and the energy to put them to good use.
May the work we do and the way we do it, bring new hope, new life, and courage to all we come in contact with this term. We thank you, Lord.
We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Vision Statement
St Anthony's School community works collaboratively to teach and live the values of Christ. While respecting tradition, and to meet the demands of a rapidly changing society, it strives to educate our children to their full potential.
School Code of Conduct
A reminder that every member of the St Anthony’s School community must behave in the manner described in our Code of Conduct.
Our Code is like the 40km/h speed limit outside our school in the mornings and afternoons. It defines behaviours that keep our students safe: at school, and elsewhere. Children and young people surrounded by adult and peer behaviours as outlined in the Code are more likely to recognise and choose healthy relationships for themselves.
Conduct Statements
- You act safely and competently.
- You give priority to students’ safety and well-being in all your behaviour and decision making.
- You act in accordance with the values of the Gospel as defined in the Code of Ethical Conduct.
- You conduct yourself in accordance with laws, agreements, policies and standards relevant to your relationship with the school community.
- You respect the dignity, culture, values and beliefs of each member of the school community.
- You treat personal information about members of the school community as private and confidential.
- You give impartial, honest and accurate information about the education, safety and well-being of students.
- You support all members of the school community in making informed decisions about students.
- You promote and preserve the trust and privilege inherent in your relationship with all members of the school community.
- You maintain and build on the community’s trust and confidence in Catholic schools and the Church.
- You act reflectively and ethically.
- You allow students to have a voice in their education, safety and well-being
The Code describes the minimum requirements expected of all members of our community and that all in our community conduct themselves personally and professionally in a way that maintains public trust and confidence in our school and the Church. While mandatory language such as ‘must’, ‘shall’ and ‘will’ is not used throughout the Code, there is a presumption the conduct described is mandatory and therefore not optional.

Safety News
As part of our Bushfire Plan, we are required to communicate with the community some key information relating to potential school closures during bushfire season. Please see the below information from our Bushfire Plan that has been created in consultation with the Incident Response Team at CEWA and DFES.
Bushfire Zone Register
We have received notification that our School has been included on the Bushfire Zone Register. Inclusion on this register means that if there is a Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating (FDR) for our area the School may invoke a pre-emptive closure.
What does this mean for our School?
When given advance warning by DFES that an EXTREME FDR has been forecast for a given day, we may be given a directive to invoke a pre-emptive School closure. If the School receives such a direction, parents will be informed of the possible planned closure. Once again, this emphasises the importance of the School having up to date contact details for all families.
In the intervening period between the declaration of the pre-emptive closure and the day of planned closure, DFES will monitor weather patterns to keep the School informed of any change to the forecast for the declared day. The final decision to pre-emptively close the School will be confirmed with the Principal no later than 1:30 pm on the day before the declared day of closure. If the forecast changes after that deadline, the closure will stand, regardless of improvements to the weather conditions. The intention is to limit confusion or uncertainty for parents and to allow families ample time to make alternative childcare arrangements. Parents will be advised of the confirmation of closure, or its reversal, by an SMS and/or email to all parent contacts on the day before the planned closure, or reversal.
How will I know when the School is reopening?
It is anticipated that the School will only be required to close for a single day at a time, but this will depend on the weather and the particular circumstance of any fire situation. Parents will receive a message to advise whether the School will reopen the day after the planned closure, or whether it will remain closed. The School’s website will also contain a notice to advise parents of the current status of the closure and when the School is expected to reopen. DFES would also advise that families monitor local media for any current information about fire danger ratings and notification of Schools reopening. Staying tuned to ABC Local Radio in your locality is also advisable. Information can also be found through contacting DFES on 1300 657 209 or www.dfes.wa.gov.au.
