Welcome to November! Welcome to November!

Hi everyone! Happy November! Please remember to vote in the upcoming special election on the 4th. Here's a link to resources and information about the special election if you need them: https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/upcoming-elections/statewide-special-nov-4-2025

I also wanted to provide information about California EBT and SNAP benefits, as many in our community may be affected. The federal government is shut down. Until President Trump and Congress take action, millions of Californians receiving CalFresh benefits will have their November benefits delayed. The federal government has not provided additional funding for November benefits. You can continue using your existing CalFresh benefits on your EBT as usual. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, anyone can call 211 to find immediate resources for food in the community. Here is a link with more information: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/benefits-services/food-nutrition-services/calfresh/calfresh-frequently-asked-questions

If you are looking for ways you can help in your community, please consider making a financial donation to the San Diego food bank, or Feeding San Diego.

As always, if you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out!

Please consider volunteering at the warehouse for delivery day. I'll be there, and would love to have 2-3 more people join me to help our regional manager hand out products! Text me if you'd like to volunteer, so I can let our regional team know how many of us to expect.

2026 Cookie Booths

We have found someone to step in as SUCC (YAY THANK YOU!!!) however, because these changes have been given to us with such short notice, we really need your help! Securing booth spots has historically been a challenge for Tierrasanta troops because, well, we have no booths in place! If every troop could try and secure just one booth location, we would have 20 potential new booth locations! That would be so amazing!

We all really want our girls to be able to have booths in Tierrasanta. we're asking for help in getting this done. I have emailed the booth authorization form, store letter, and a booth tracking spreadsheet to all troop leaders in our service unit. Please consider visiting one business in Tierrasanta this week and asking the manager if they will allow us to have cookie booths at their location. You can hand them the store letter as well as the authorization form, which has all the information on it that both the business and council will need. The first FIVE troops to secure a new booth location will receive a free cookie kit from the service unit as a thank you!! Please fill in the spreadsheet with the name of the business before you visit so we all can keep track of which businesses are being approached. DO NOT visit Walmart. Girl Scouts USA already has a contract with Walmart in place.

On the spreadsheet, I've included the businesses we have already secured for Tierrasanta in the past. Please approach other businesses. (Heavenly yogurt, Dominoes, Cotijas, Anytime fitness, Luxe boba, Smart and Final, etc.)

Please email booth forms you've collected to su627cookies@gmail.com by Wednesday November 5, that way we can send them to our regional manager by the 7th.

Thanks in advance for your help!
