📣Announcements & Reminders
KINDNESS CHALLENGE BINGO Student will be receiving an Acts of Kindness Bingo card. This month we will be focusing on kind acts across the school. We wanted to encourage these kind acts at home also. Students should do a kind act and cross out the box. A parent or guardian should initial in the box that they completed the kind act. Once they have a bingo (across, up/down, or diagonal) they should return the bingo card to the school with their first and last name on it. All bingo cards will be placed in a drawing for a prize at the end of the month. Students can complete as many bingo cards throughout the month to be entered into the drawing. Again a parent or guardian's initials should be in each box for the card to be added into the drawing.
ATTENDANCE: We want to remind you of the critical role that regular attendance plays in your child’s education. Consistent participation in class not only enhances academic performance but also fosters social skills and emotional well-being.
Here are a few key points to consider:
Academic Success: Students who attend school regularly tend to achieve higher grades and perform better on assessments.
Engagement: Daily attendance helps students stay engaged with their peers and teachers, reinforcing their learning and building strong relationships.
Routine and Responsibility: Regular attendance instills a sense of routine and responsibility, essential skills for future success.
Early Intervention: Frequent absences can hinder teachers' ability to identify and support students who may be struggling.
We appreciate your support in ensuring that your child attends school consistently. If you have any concerns about attendance, please reach out.
WEATHER CHANGING: Now that the weather is changing into colder temperatures, I want families to know the expectations for dress during the colder months. All students are required to dress appropriately for recess. Attire may change throughout the school year and is dependent on the weather. It is our goal to have students outside as much as possible weather permitting. In order for this to happen students must be properly dressed. Failure to bring the proper attire may result in loss of recess time. If the weather is 50 degrees or less a jacket must be warn. If there is snow, snow pants, snow boots, gloves and a hat is required. Please start planning for the snowy weather. If you might need support obtaining any of the winter gear please let your child's teacher know and we will support in anyway we can.
VISION and HEARING SCREENINGS will be taking place this month. The school nurse will be doing the vision screenings with the 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders this year. The Lions Club will come in with their Welch Allyn Spot Camera to screen the 4K and Kindergarten students; however, if they are unavailable.
For the hearing screenings, we will be screening K, 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders. Please look for info in your child's Friday folder. There will be an opt OUT form. Only families that wish for their child NOT to participate will need to complete this. All other students will be screened. Vision issues or hearing loss can affect a child's ability to learn and is important to diagnose at an early age.
