Tag Testing
District-Wide TAG (Talented and Gifted) Identification – Springfield Public Schools
TAG identification is approaching, and referrals are now open. The SPS TAG program uses district-wide assessments and classroom work samples to determine whether a student demonstrates potential at or above the 95th percentile in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, or Intellectual Giftedness. Students at this level often need more advanced instruction to stay challenged.
Teachers, families, and specialists may refer students. Referrals must be submitted by February 6 to allow time for data collection before testing. After referral, the school’s TAG Contact will review data, communicate next steps, and share additional forms if the student qualifies for further assessment.
