ELEMENTARY INFORMATION
A Message from Our Elementary Principal - Mr. Anderson
ALA Elementary Families,
We’re about three weeks into summer break, and I hope your homes are filled with a little more rest, a little more sunshine, and a lot fewer alarms going off in the morning.
I know this is a couple weeks late but I didn’t want the chance to pass without celebrating a few of the incredible educators and teams who made this past school year such a strong one for our students.
There’s something special about a school year where you can feel the growth—not just in scores or checklists, but in confidence, routines, friendships, and the way kids carry themselves. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of people who show up every day with consistency, care, and high expectations.
So before we get too far into summer mode, I want to take a moment to recognize a couple of our teachers and teams who helped make that kind of year possible.
Elementary Teacher of the Year
Kimberly Dyer
Mrs. Dyer represents everything we hope for in an educator. She builds meaningful relationships with students, creates a classroom where learning is both challenging and joyful, and consistently helps students reach their potential. Her passion for teaching, unwavering commitment to children, and positive influence on our school make her a deserving recipient of this year's first ever Elementary Teacher of the Year recognition.
Congratulations, Mrs. Dyer! We are grateful for the difference you make every day.
Overall Grade Level Recognition
This year, we want to recognize the Kindergarten and Third Grade teams for the way they led learning from the ground up.
These teams built strong classroom cultures, established clear routines, and created learning environments where students could truly grow. Walk into their classrooms and you see engagement, structure, laughter, persistence, and students who are learning how to work hard and believe in themselves.
Their work shows up in the small things done consistently: how students enter a room, how they respond to challenges, how they support each other, and how they keep showing up ready to learn.
Kindergarten and Third Grade set a strong tone for our school this year, and we are grateful for their leadership and commitment to students.
Staff Spotlight: Congratulations to Mrs. Alvarado!
We’re excited to share some well-earned recognition for one of our kindergarten stars, Marivid Alvarado.
Mrs. Alvarado was recently featured on KSL NewsRadio’s Teacher Feature after being nominated by ALA parent Alexandra Powell, who highlighted the lasting impact she’s having on students each day.
What stood out most in the nomination was the way her classroom feels to students and families alike—safe, caring, and built on real connection. Parents described a space where children are not only learning academics, but also learning how to be kind, thoughtful classmates who look out for one another
In her own quiet, steady way, Mrs. Alvarado makes the small moments matter—checking in with students who are having a tough day, and even leading thoughtful “wish you well” routines that help classmates feel seen when they’re absent.
It’s the kind of classroom leadership that doesn’t need fanfare to be felt—it shows up in how students treat each other, how they grow, and how they belong.
We’re grateful for the heart she brings to her work and the example she sets every day at ALA.

Seeing the dedication, heart, and talent of our teachers is a strong reminder of how fortunate we are to have them leading our students each day. What we’re building together at ALA is rooted in people who care deeply—and families who partner right alongside them.
That combination is what makes our school so amazing!
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership, and for sharing your amazing children with us this year. I hope your summer continues to bring plenty of rest, a few good laughs, and memories that stick long after school is back in session.
Enjoy every bit of it, stay safe, and soak up the moments that matter most.
With gratitude,
Mr. Anderson
