Principal Points
Dear Roosevelt Families,
A Little Extra Time… and a Great Reminder for Our Roosevelt Tigers!
This weekend we “spring forward” with Daylight Saving Time, which means our clocks move ahead one hour. While it may take a day or two for our bodies to adjust, it’s also a wonderful reminder of something we work on every day at Roosevelt — learning the value of time.
In elementary school, students begin learning how to tell time, manage time, and understand how their time is spent. From reading practice and homework routines to playtime, family dinners, and bedtime stories, these moments help children learn that time is something special.
As we adjust our clocks, it might be a fun opportunity to talk with your child about time:
✨ What are some things you love spending time on?
✨ What is something new you want to learn or practice?
✨ How can we make the most of our time together as a family?
✨ Tell your child why you love spending time with him/her
At Roosevelt, we believe every minute matters. Each day is another opportunity to learn, grow, show kindness, and build confidence.
Wishing all of our Roosevelt families a wonderful week ahead! See you on Tuesday Tigers!

MARCH CHARACTER TRAIT
THE HONEST JAR: INTEGRITY ACTIVITY
Family Activity: “The Honesty Jar”
Integrity grows when children see that honesty is valued and celebrated. A fun way to practice this at home is by creating an Honesty Jar together.
How it works:
Find a jar, cup, or small container and decorate it together as the Family Integrity Jar.
Throughout the week, family members write down moments when someone showed honesty or did the right thing—even when it was hard.
Examples might include:
Telling the truth about a mistake
Returning something that didn’t belong to them
Admitting they forgot to do something
Standing up for a friend
At the end of the week, gather as a family and read the notes aloud.
Why it works:
Children learn that integrity isn’t about being perfect—it’s about making honest choices and taking responsibility. Celebrating these moments helps kids understand that doing the right thing is something to be proud of.
You might even ask:
"Was there a moment this week when it was hard to do the right thing?"
These conversations help children see that integrity is built in the small choices we make every day.
ATTENTION 4TH GRADE FAMILIES

How Can Care Solace Help?
Care Solace is a service that partners with LPS to help students, families, and staff quickly connect with mental health and wellness providers. Through Care Solace, individuals receive confidential support in finding local counselors, therapists, substance use treatment programs, and other behavioral health services that meet their specific needs, insurance, and preferences. The service is available 24/7 and is designed to remove barriers to care by helping families navigate the often complicated process of finding the right support, ensuring that everyone in the school community has access to the help they may need.
