Holy Rosary School Derby

We started the term with a busy week and our Holy Rosary Feast Day. Bishop Tim came across from Broome to officiate our whole school Mass in the morning and then the rest of the day was filled with fun activities and a delicious spaghetti bolognese for lunch. We have a busy term coming up as we head towards the end of 2025. Our next special event will be our Holy Rosary Art Exhibition and Open Day on Thursday 13th November. The event starts at 2.30pm and ends around 5.30pm. On the day our classrooms will be open for our families and members of the community to come and have a look at some of the great things we are doing in the school. The Art Exhibition will be displayed in the Multi-purpose Room and will be showcasing a range of student work from across all year levels.

Save the date for our end of year Christmas Concert which will be on Tuesday 9th December. We will be selling food again this year and order forms will be sent out to families closer to the date. The evening will start around 5.00pm with our concert starting at 6.00pm.

Save the date also for our end of year Mass and Assembly which will be held in the Church on Thursday 11th December, further details will be sent out to families closer to the date. The Year 6 students will have their Graduation lunch on the same day and details will be sent home with families closer to the date.

There will be no formal Masses until a priest is appointed to Derby. There will be a Sunday 9.00am Liturgy.

The students had a fabulous feast day with lots of fun activities and an awesome lunch. Thank you to Miss Collette and Mr Griffin for the awesome cooking of the spaghetti and to all the staff who organised the fun activities for the rest of the day. Special shout our to Bishop Tim for officiating our special feast day Mass.

The Pre-primary students will have swimming lessons from Monday 27th October to Friday 31st October. Students are to come to school in their swimmers and bring a school uniform to change into after the lessons. Students will need to bring their own goggles and towels.

Students will be transported by the school bus to and from the lessons. All students are expected to participate in these lessons as part of our Physical Education program.

A reminder that students from Kindy to Year 6 are expected to wear the school uniform. Uniform items can be purchased from the front office. For those families purchasing shorts/skorts from outside of school - the colour must be royal blue.

Black shorts/skorts are not an acceptable option. Pictures of the uniform are included for reference.

Students from Years 1 -6 are also required to wear closed in sports shoes or sandals with a covered toe and strap across the back. Thongs and crocs are not permitted to be worn at school.

It is essential for Health Care Card holders to complete the necessary form immediately to be eligible for the school fee discount. The school is provided with additional funding to support your child's learning programs so through keeping this up-to-date we are able to offer exciting activities like the recent Scitech incursion and resource our classrooms appropriately.

All Health care Cards MUST be current so if yours has expired please come in and provide the updated details to Miss Jenna in Admin.

The School Advisory Council welcomes any families interested. Expressions of interested currently being accepted in the Admin for any family wishing to join. We are currently looking for volunteers as we do not have enough members for a quorum.
