Washington Construction Update

As part of the preparation for summer construction, the second-floor classrooms were abated during spring break to clear asbestos out of the floor tiles. Our facilities team followed IDPH standards and guidelines to ensure the classes were safe to return once school resumed.

However, we have heard concerns about the increased dust in these areas. The classes are safe to be in, but we are working with a contractor to come in this weekend to seal the remaining concrete floors to prevent excess dust from building up. Our custodial crew will also take additional measures to keep these areas clean.

We apologize for this inconvenience, but we thank you for your patience and understanding as we prep for the exciting improvements that will happen once school ends for the summer.

Congratulations Science Olympian Participants!

A big congratulations to all fourth and fifth graders who participating in the Science Olympiad on Saturday, April 5th. Special congratulations to the students who won first, second or third place medals!

Sixth Grade Info Night at Lincoln

We are excited for our current fifth-grade students to soon become part of the Lincoln family. This brief informational night for parents is a great opportunity to hear about our school and to prepare for a smooth transition into middle school. The event will take place on Thursday, April 17th from 6:00– 7:15 PM. Our agenda will include information regarding the transition process, academic placement, and elective programs.

In addition, there will be a short introduction to our sixth grade teacher teams and support personnel. They will be available for a Q&A at the end of the formal presentation. We are hopeful that this, along with communications that will be coming out over the months ahead, will leave you and your student excited and prepared for the upcoming school year. We look forward to seeing you then!

Date: Thursday, April 17
Time: 6:00-7:15
Where: Lincoln Gym

NOTE: Students will be receiving this same information when we visit the individual fifth-grade homerooms that week. Their attendance is not required.
