2026 Winter Card Contest
Submit Artwork by October 20 | Entry Guidelines Inside
Every student has a little creativity to share! District 62 students in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to enter this year’s Winter Greeting Card Design Contest. Whether your child loves to draw or just wants to give it a try, we’d love to see what they create.
The first-place design will be featured on a greeting card sent to community leaders and shared on the district’s website and social media. First, second, and third place winners will be recognized at the November 16 Board of Education meeting. All participating students who enter will receive a participation certificate.
Please review these guidelines with your student before submitting artwork:
Show winter, rather than a specific holiday. Snow, cardinals, winter trees, mittens, snowflakes, and snowmen are examples of suitable themes.
- Keep the design welcoming to all District 62 families. Please leave out religious symbols, religious messages, and decorations or characters tied to a particular holiday, such as a Christmas tree, Santa Claus, a menorah, or a nativity scene.
- Keep all words and images school appropriate. Please do not include frightening or violent images, or content that could be hurtful or disrespectful to others.
- Make the artwork the student’s own. Submit an original, hand-drawn design—not a photograph, digital design, traced image, or copied character or logo.
- Use a plain white 5" × 7" sheet of paper. The design may be vertical or horizontal. Make the main image clear enough to reproduce on a greeting card.
What you need to do:
- Write the student’s name and school on the back.
- Include a completed parent or guardian release form.
- Submit the entry to your school secretary by October 20.
We look forward to seeing your children's ideas come to life!
