Principal's Message
Hello Davis families!
Welcome to Week 19!
This is our final week before Winter Break! We are continuing our i-Ready Math diagnostics, and our students have shown tremendous growth—we are so proud of their hard work. As we head into a week filled with fun activities, we want to remind families that attendance continues to matter every day, including this final week. We also invite students to participate in our Spirit Week by dressing up and joining in the fun.
I would also like to take a moment to celebrate Principal PJ for a job well done on Friday. First grader PJ served as our Principal for the Day, and thanks to the support of our entire Davis community, it was a memorable and successful experience for all.
As Winter Break approaches, we hope you are able to spend meaningful time with your loved ones and create lasting memories together. Our teachers and staff will also be enjoying time with their families, and our school office will be closed for the two-week break. We wish you a safe, restful, and joyful Winter Break.
Safety Reminder:
Please drive with caution when entering and exiting the parking lot. Maintain a safe speed, stay alert, and remain attentive to your surroundings. It’s also important to follow staff directions to help ensure that drop-off and pick-up run as safely and smoothly as possible. Additionally, we kindly remind families not to park in handicapped spaces unless you have the appropriate placard. Using these spaces without proper authorization impacts those who rely on them. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our campus safe and accessible for all. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our students safe!
Our Tiger Tenets :
BE SAFE.
BE RESPECTFUL.
BE RESPONSIBLE.
With Tiger Pride,
Ms. Cruz
Student Spotlight
Each week, we are proud to highlight students who have been nominated by teachers and staff for demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm for learning, dedication in the classroom, and the many ways they embody what it means to be a Davis Tiger.
Whether it’s through academic effort, kindness toward others, leadership, or a positive attitude, these students stand out and deserve to be celebrated.
This week, our Student Spotlight features 2nd grader Eliana. Eliana is being nominated by Ms. Sawyer who shares that Eliana is so creative and helpful both in and out of the classroom. She is a wonderful class participant, and Ms. Sawyer appreciates that she always has a positive attitude. Way to go, Eliana!

Parent Climate Survey: We need your feedback!
Our annual Parent Climate Survey is now live, and the deadline has been extended. If you have not already done so, please add your input! Your feedback is crucial as it will, in part, guide the direction of our school and district’s future. The survey should take about 15 minutes to complete. Take the survey now at https://tejoin.com/scroll/449490670
This survey is a valuable source of information and a representation of your voice. We hope that you will take the time to answer the questions in a thoughtful and honest manner.

Morning Dropoff
Please remember that the front gate does not open until 7:40 am as there is no supervision for students prior to this time. It is important that students come to school dressed appropriately, including wearing school-appropriate shoes. If your student comes to school in Crocs or sandals, they will be asked to sit out during PE and may not go in the barkbox or onto the fields during recess due to safety concerns.
Students who wish to eat breakfast in the cafeteria should arrive no later than 7:45 am. For students arriving by bus, please proceed immediately to the cafeteria. The cafeteria will be cleared out 15 minutes after the latest bus arrives to ensure that students do not miss instructional time.
Lunch Options For The Week
Picking Students Up
Please remember that if your student has not yet been dismissed and you are in the loading zone, staff will be asking you to park or loop around to allow other parents to load their students who are waiting. We also ask that you model safe behaviors and use the crosswalk. Our Tigers know this is a Tiger Tenet and a way to be safe!
We thank you for your patience and for working with our staff to ensure dismissal occurs smoothly.
Have You Reported Your Students' Absence?
If your student will be out, be sure to call the office at 209-953-8301 to report your their absence. Students who have a medical or dental appointment will need to bring a note from their doctor upon their return.
Additionally, it is important your student arrives on time, ready to learn. School starts at 8:00 am and students are expected to be in their classes at this time. If students are arriving to school late, they are missing critical time that sets the structure for their day, including instruction and warm-up activities.
