Hello Families!

10 out of 10! What a fantastic first week of school. Our preschoolers did an amazing job engaging in their classrooms, and so did you! Thank you, families, for your patience, understanding, commitment, and partnership. We experienced all of this as we worked with you throughout the week. From extra-long dismissal lines and transportation missteps to crying preschoolers, WE worked as a team and successfully got through it. If this week is any indication of what our school year will look like, WE are going to have an AMAZING school year!

🚫School Closed on Tuesday

There is no school for students on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 due to election day and staff professional development day.

🔥 Fire Drill 🧯

Our students will be participating in the first fire drill of the school year this week.

Our school is required to conduct a fire drill every month.

🧓🏾 👴🏼Today is Grandparents' Day! We wish all of our grandparents well, and we salute you for your dedication to our school. We will be celebrating our CEEP grandparents and grand-friends later this month. Look out for more information soon.

Rosh Hashanah Holiday

Wishing a sweet and happy Rosh Hashanah to all our families who celebrate! May this new year bring peace, joy, and health to your homes.

CSD is now offering the “Where’s the Bus” app to provide parents and students with timely information about the location of your child’s bus.

Using GPS technology, this app will show you and your. child how many more miles your bus is from the bus stop.

The “Where’s the Bus” app is free to CSD families whose children ride the bus. The app is available on all devices with internet access and takes less than five (5) minutes to install.

At CSD, our transportation team is committed to provide the best service. We hope the “Where’s the Bus” app makes your household’s bus riding experience even more convenient and safe.

Grandparents' Day at CEEP is coming up on Friday, September 25th. We are so excited to meet all of the grand-families and grand-friends that will be visiting CEEP. Each classroom will host families at different times during the day. Please be advised that space and parking is extremely limited. Therefore, we can only host up to 4 guests per student. If your child will have a grand supporter who will join us, please complete the Grandparent's RSVP form.

Late Arrivals

• After 9:45 AM and 1:15 PM a student is considered late and must be "signed" in for the day by an adult at the Colwyck main office. Classroom staff will escort the child to the classroom.

• For late arrivals, parents are permitted to park in the Colwyck Center parking lot AFTER 9:45 AM or 1:15 PM.

• When students arrive late to school due to a doctor’s visit, families can request to speak with our school nurse to discuss any medical information received by you as a result of your visit. Just let the office know and a nurse will be called.

Late Arrival Sign-In Procedures

If your child arrives after the morning arrival designated period, you must sign in on the late form and someone will take your child to class. You may have to wait until someone is available to escort your child to their class. Please do your best to get your child to school on time each morning/afternoon.

Late Arrival Notification in the Attendance System

For late arrivals to be counted as excused in the school attendance system, you need to complete the district attendance form. Please see the district handbook for what constitutes a late arrival to be excused. https://form.jotform.com/202313732094144

🦷 Smile bright with our special dental Screening! The Delaware Smile Check Program, part of The Division of Public Health, Bureau of Oral Health and Dental Services will be at CEEP on Monday, September 28, 2026 to help keep your children’s precious smiles healthy and happy! ✨

❤️This is a great, low stress way to ease children, even those who have oral aversions into dental hygiene, as they are not pressured to open their mouth for the oral hygienist to check their teeth, but calmly encouraged in a playful, low-stress way to help them to feel safe and comfortable with the process. We celebrate all attempts! 🎉

Who Can Participate:

• Students who are uninsured or insured by Medicaid or DCHIP

• Students who have not had a dental cleaning or examination in the past 7 months that are uninsured or insured by Medicaid and DCHIP.

Dental Services Offered:

• Dental Screenings (a visual evaluation)

• Fluoride application (to strengthen teeth)

• Case management (help finding a dentist, insurance, resources, and answering dental questions).

• Toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and a prize
