Drill/Emergency Information
We want to share a quick update on our safety protocols. To ensure our campus remains a safe environment, we conduct monthly fire drills alongside several other required safety drills throughout the year.
Additionally, there are times when we temporarily secure the hallways for non-threatening situations, such as a medical emergency. This allows emergency personnel swift, uninterrupted entry and exit while protecting student privacy.
Please rest assured that if an event ever occurs that requires your direct attention, we will communicate with you as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our students safe.
Vertical Raise Fundraiser
A quick reminder: our Vertical Raise fundraiser is officially live! Ms. Broadus walked students through setting up their accounts, and they should have brought home an instruction sheet to help you get started.
Our goal is to offset or completely cover out-of-pocket costs for upcoming student reward field trips (like Extremenasium, Soar-n-Bounce, and the movies!).
How you can help today (takes less than 5 minutes): Please log in with your student and enter email addresses or phone numbers for family, friends, and supporters who might want to contribute.
Why it matters: Adding quality contacts directly impacts how much we raise to lower field trip costs for your family.
Privacy first: All contact details are kept strictly private and used solely for this campaign
Thank you for taking a few minutes to support our students!
8th Grade Washington, DC Information
We are eager to share that our 8th grade students will have the opportunity to attend a trip to Washington, DC in March. We will NOT be taking parent chaperones. Our RVMS staff members will accompany the students on the trip. We will have two opportunities for informational meetings next week. If a student will be absent, please call 812-288-4848 ext. 24141 or email pknoebel@gccschools.com. Please note, a student may have 10 absences excused with parent notification. After that, a doctor's note or other documentation will be required.
- Students are allowed to bring cell phones to school, but must keep them turned off and put away. River Valley Middle School is an “Away for the Day” school.
