White Springs Library has been honored to present Mr. Ernest M. Lee's beautiful and unique artworks, depicting life in the South and its rustic culture, in our very first Art Gallery. Stop by anytime during our open hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM) on August 4th to see Lee's artwork adorning the walls of our library and learn more about his artwork and life story.

Wear Your Mother's Jewelry Day is celebrated on August 8th each year, encouraging people to honor their mothers by wearing their mother's jewelry, whether it's a piece they inherited or one they remember their mother wearing. It's a way to celebrate our mothers, living or deceased, and their legacy. We invite all patrons to visit White Springs Public Library for the entire week of August 8th. Show us any important piece of jewelry from your family or culture and share its story in exchange for a small gift!!

Kids and Teens, get ready to level up your gaming experience at the library! If you love gaming or are interested in joining a community of young gamers - join our new Gaming Club for ages 8-11 (Aug 5th at 5:00PM) and 12-17 (Aug 19th at 5:00PM), available consoles are PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

As summer break comes to a close and August approaches, so do back-to-school days!
Libraries are wonderful resources for people of all ages throughout their educational careers. To introduce the community to our library resources and teach our youth how to utilize them, we are hosting an open house.

Library 101 is an all-day event for any patrons who would like to refresh their knowledge of what the White Springs Public Library can provide for them, including upcoming programs, book titles, digital resources, library etiquette, and information about new staff.

Although this program is aimed at students entering the new school year to help them become familiar with their local library, all patrons are welcome to attend.

A Special event at 2:00PM includes a presentation on library resources and library card benefits, as well as coffee and snacks.

To celebrate National Afternoon Tea Week, we invite you to join us for tea, tea-time snacks, and conversation at our Afternoon Tea Party on August 13th at 1:00 PM.

You are welcome to wear tea attire.

Learn about opportunities to participate in real scientific research at your local library with our new Citizen Science kits. Citizen Science is a great way to make a real impact in the world of scientific research by utilizing these kits and following the instructions provided, and reporting your findings through SciStarter. Visit the White Springs Public Library on August 15th at 1:00PM to hear more about Citizen Science!

Visit the White Springs Library August 7th for adult art exploration, and August 8th for kids art exploration with Sandra Dawson from 11:00AM to 12:00PM.

If you have a girl in school grades 3rd - 12th with an interest in videogaming, the internet, or coding be sure to have them join our Girls Who Code program to learn the basics of coding and the value of sisterhood. Girls in grades 3rd - 5th will meet August 14th at 3:00PM and girls in grades 6th - 12th will meet August 11th at 3:00PM.

A CareerSource Representative will be at the White Springs Library on Thursday, August 14th

from 1:00PM to 4:00PM.

If you have a passion for fishing or a knack for lost arts, join Mark and Larry at White Springs Library for their Fly Fishing Class on August 20th at 10:30AM to learn how to tie a beginner fly and learn fly casting.

Everyone is welcome to attend the demonstration! Please note that supplies are limited, so only a few participants will be able to practice casting and tying hands-on.
