The Senior Panther

Seniors, you should be hearing back from your colleges/universities about admissions/acceptances from your applications! You will also be receiving information from the Financial Aid departments of your colleges/universities showing you the cost of attendance. If you are struggling with understanding all of this information, click here for more information! Still very confused?? Come and see your counselor!

Applications are still being accepted at colleges across NC! Early decision deadlines have passed, but regular admission seats are still available. The deadline for most colleges/universities is mid-February, so time is ticking! If you need help with a college application, come and see your counselor!

The counseling department will be uploading mid-year senior transcripts into Scoir for your colleges/universities that want to look at them! These should be uploaded by next week.

We will listen and offer help and assistance in whatever your post graduation plans may be! We can help you organize your thoughts, and point you in the right direction where you can find information about what you are interested in. We are here for you - come and see us!!

If you are a CTE completer, you will be required to take the WorkKeys exam on February 25th. You will be notified if you must take it! Once again, not all seniors will take this exam; you must be a CTE completer. Ms. Floyd will be letting all seniors who qualify know if they must take the test.

Be sure to keep your grades up and that you refrain, if possible, from changing your spring schedule unless you are adding rigor. Colleges admit you not only upon the courses that you have taken through your Junior year, but also on the courses that are listed on your transcript for your senior year. Some colleges have a form for you to fill out to justify any changes! It is your responsibility to let your colleges/universities know if you have changed your spring schedule!

The Counseling Office is receiving more Scholarship Opportunities - please be sure to check out our Counselor Webpage on the PHS website! We list all the scholarships as they come in, and we have links for national and state opportunities as well! Click HERE to go to our webpage!

Please also remember to go to each college's scholarship webpages that you are applying to so that you may take advantage of collegiate scholarship opportunities as well!

Here are some useful links for you to explore!
