Bluff Monthly Update--February
March 2, 2026
March already? Wow, time sure is flying by! The students have learned so much this year, but still have so much more to learn! We have about three months of school left and our days at Bluff are full of academic learning, but also social emotional learning. Your students are growing in so many ways and it is important that we celebrate their hard work. I also want to thank our staff for showing up each day and helping to guide our students to be the best they can be.
As always, I must remind everyone that every day is SO IMPORTANT. When students miss school, they miss valuable lessons that are a struggle to make up because they are a lot of hands on activities. Please make EVERY DAY COUNT!! It truly matters and we want our students here learning academic expectations, but also learning socially and emotionally.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Cooley

Attendance Matters-PLEASE READ!
This has been a hard winter for illness! We recognize there is a lot going around and absences will happen. I just want to remind everyone that the only way for an absence to be excused is with a dr note or to be excused/sent home by our nurse. We have had days where we dipped below 90% attendance. However, we are still holding at 94.2% for the school year and our goal is 95%! I know we can get back there. Hopefully Spring Break proves to be a good reset for everyone!
Just a reminder now that we are in second semester, that when your child reaches 5 absences, you will receive a phone call or email, a letter when they reach 7, and with anywhere between 8 and 11 absences, we will set up a meeting with you to come to school and create an Attendance Prevention Plan. Our goal is to keep problem solving with you!
Therapy Dog UPDATE!!
I am SO pleased to announce that Bluff has successfully fundraised in full for our next therapy dog!! Thank you to our families for fundraising and also to staff, community donors, and business donors, we are ready for the call when it comes in! Our students and staff are so lucky to be surrounded by such caring people that recognize how beneficial a therapy dog can be to our Bluff family. We believe that we will be matched up with our dog in June so we will start the school year with our new friend! Nurse Katie can't wait to meet him/her and bring them back to Bluff!
We do have a few more bones and paws if you would like to make any last minute donations and add your child's or families name to our donation window! Please send money to the office!
Thank you all again for helping us to meet our goal! I will be making a post soon to thank the community by name who helped us out!
Food Pantry at Bluff
Our food pantry is full and ready for you to visit! It will be open next week during conferences and we sure hope you will stop in and get some food for your family. If you need to come at a time outside of conferences, just call the office and we will find a time that works for you! 563-242-1606
