Thank you each and every one to all the 4-H’ers, parents, leaders, and volunteers who helped to make the 2026 Boone County Fair a great success! We hope you had fun, made some new friends, and learned some new skills during the past year in 4-H. The Extension staff in the Boone and Nance County offices appreciate all your time, talent, and dedication to the 4-H program. We couldn’t do it without YOU!

Your 4-H story is a very important part of your 4-H record each year, and by completing this story, your projects are marked as finished in your permanent 4-H record. We refer to this record when asked to give recommendations for college or employment. By completing your project year, you also become eligible for recognition at the Achievement Party.

What's Happening at the Fairgrounds?
In addition to the county budget for the fair, an additional budget allows for capital construction projects. While many projects have been discussed by the Fairboard, a large concrete project was recently approved.
Immediately following the JR High Rodeo this fall, work will begin on additional concrete on the east side of the Ag Ed Center. The scope of this project is approximately 29,000 sq. feet, with about 18,000 sq. feet due to be completed this fall, the remaining portion planned for 2027.
Once completed you will be able to enter the arena through the northeast overhead door, exit through the southeast overhead door, and return to the east drive while remaining on concrete. This will improve the access to the arena and create an adjacent concrete parking area on the east side.
DURING CONSTRUCTION
During the construction, drive-up access to the Extension Office will be through the parking lot just northeast of the Ag Ed Center. If conditions are not favorable for driving, parking is available west of the Casey’s building with access to the Extension Office by walking the trail. You may also park on the concrete area just northwest of the Ag Ed Center and walk around to the Extension Office.
UNTIL NEXT MONTH!
