Congratulations
Congratulations to our TOMS Staff Member of the Week, Mrs. Kristi Magrini-Hunt!
She was nominated by Mrs. Phyllis Manak.
Mrs. Magrini -Hunt is a Special Education Paraprofessional at TOMS and has been
teaching here for 5 years.
My favorite memory of middle school was the everyday moments with teachers and friends... joking and laughing at lunch and enjoying how simple life felt. Even the small things, like group projects and school games, were exciting because we were all figuring things out together. Those friendships and carefree moments are what stand out the most to me now.
My advice to my middle school self would be... to not stress so much about what others think. Be more confident, try new things, and appreciate the moment because these years go by faster than you expect.
Help us congratulate RILEY GALLAGHER.. the #ABC15KidCaster last week! Riley is a 6th grader at Ten Oaks Middle School! She was amazing and certainly has a bright future in whatever she does. One day she hopes to be a composer or an actress. Certainly if she want to be on TV, she’s going to be awesome! Great job Riley!
Today is Administrative Professionals Day, and we are incredibly grateful for Mrs. Stephanie Graham, Data Quality Clerk; Mrs. Christine Lordi, Secretary I; Mrs. Kelley Zehfuss, Secretary II; and Mrs. Karin Booth, Bookkeeper.
They handle countless responsibilities each day, both in front of and behind the scenes, helping keep Ten Oaks Middle School running smoothly. Their dedication, professionalism, and care make a difference for our students, staff, and families every single day. Thank you for all you do for the Silver Fox Family!
A special thank you to Mrs. Sonni Shupe with SonniDay Creations for helping make today extra special with such sweet, personalized gifts for our amazing front office team!
In celebration of Earth Day, Mr. Butterfield’s class took action to help keep our campus clean!
These hardworking students came together and collected over 10 pounds of trash—making a real difference in our environment.
We’re proud of their effort and commitment to caring for our planet!
On Tuesday afternoon and evening, we celebrated the incredible talents of our students at Fine Arts Night! From visual art and creative writing to drama, choral music, band, and orchestra, our students truly shined.
We are so proud of their hard work and creativity—what an amazing showcase of talent!
Thank you to Mr. Hammer, Mr. Pope, Miss Rollins, Mrs. Paske, Mrs. Zielinski, Mrs. Tucker, and Mr. Best for your dedication in preparing and encouraging our students every day. Your impact is truly appreciated!
Success-Nothing Less
TOMS and OBMS Student Council students officially kicked off their Washington, D.C. field trip
this past Wednesday!
Thank you to Mrs. Ashley Klopfer and Mrs. Kelly Livingston for organizing this exciting opportunity. We also appreciate Mrs. Tania Frenti and our parent chaperones for their support
in making this trip possible.
Wishing our students a safe, educational, and unforgettable experience in our nation’s capital!
Ms. Misty McDaniel, Ms. Stacy Hughes, Mrs. Cassandra Beale, and Ms. Millie McKenith had the pleasure of accompanying some of our 8th graders on an unforgettable trip to historic Charleston this week!
Students explored the Charleston Museum, where they saw original artifacts dating back to the very beginnings of our state’s history. They also enjoyed a true taste of the South with a delicious lunch featuring collard greens, fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, fried chicken, and sweet tea.
The day wrapped up with a beautiful and memorable carriage ride through the city—what a fantastic experience for everyone involved!
TOMS 8th graders competed in the annual National History Day (NHD) State Competition today. To celebrate the nation's founding, this year's theme was Revolution, Reaction, and Reform in History. There were SO many great entries, and all the students worked incredibly hard to develop their products. We took 14 products to the State Competition, and 12 products were recognized for their achievements — The most in the state.
Congratulations to the following students who placed. Those who placed first and second in their category will represent TOMS, Horry County, and South Carolina in the national competition held from June 14-18 at the University of Maryland!

BUS
Dear TOMS Parents/Guardians,
In an effort to minimize classroom disruptions and maintain a focused learning environment, we are implementing a few new procedures effective immediately:
Lunch Drop-Offs
If a student’s lunch is dropped off at the front office, it will be placed on a designated cart near the security desk.
Students will not be called out of class to pick up their lunch.
Please remind your child to check the cart if they realize they do not have their lunch.
Other Item Drop-Offs
If other items (e.g., forgotten computers, books, clothing, etc.) are delivered for a student, an email will be sent to the teacher of the class the student is currently attending.
Teachers will check their email regularly throughout the day so students can receive their items in a timely manner.
Changes in Dismissal
Any changes to your child’s transportation home should be communicated prior to your student arriving at school.
Dismissal changes cannot be made over the phone after 2:00 PM to allow sufficient time to notify both the teacher and student.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
