Dear Cache Families,

For many years, our district has made early literacy a top priority. Recent Acadience data, the statewide assessment used to measure reading progress, show that 79.2% of our third-grade students are reading at or above grade level, compared to 70.5% statewide. This strong performance reflects steady improvement over time and the impact of intentional, early instruction.

This progress is the result of a comprehensive, systemwide approach that begins early and builds year after year.

Sharing the Light: Terry Goedell Demonstrates Hoop Dancing at Title 6 Family Event

Our Student Services Dept. coordinated with the Utah Division of Arts and Museums to host a night of cultural enrichment. At the event, world champion hoop dancer Terry Goedell performed his craft and taught CCSD families about identity and hope.

"There's a light inside each one of us," Terry said. "As I go from school to school, I like to tell the kids that they're unique, and I want them to be able to find out what their heritage is. It's not just about being native; it's about finding the light that you have to share with the world."

Dear CCSD Families,

I am thankful to partner with you in educating your children for success in a changing world. I am grateful for and in awe of the many sacrifices you make to improve the lives of your children. Whether or not you always see the end results of your efforts, they are significant. Every day, I am struck by the dedication you show to your children's growth and the trust you place in our district.

There is a "compounding effect" in the lives of our students that happens with each year of education and preparation. Seven of my own children have been educated in this district and I have witnessed this effect firsthand-- the way small, daily efforts grow into a lifetime of opportunity.
