I AM EXCITED TO SHARE THE SCHOOL YEAR IS OFF TO A GREAT START! STUDENTS ARE SETTLING INTO ROUTINES, BUILDING FRIENDSHIPS, AND DIVING INTO LEARNING WITH INCREDIBLE ENERGY.I TRULY VALUE THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE SCHOOL AND HOME. TOGETHER WE CAN ENSURE STUDENT SUCCESS. HAVE YOU CONSIDERED BEING A VOLUNTEER? WE COULD USE YOU! YOUR PRESENCE, TIME, AND SUPPORT MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL
CLASSROOM CLOSE-UP
MRS. REED'S CLASS
The Skittles & 7-Up challenge is something I do every year to wrap up our sentence writing review. Students get a handful of Skittles and they pick one color at a time and write a corresponding sentence. For example, red= tell me something about your family. They pay attention to subjects/predicates, capital letters, punctuation, etc. the 7-Up is to remind them that their sentence should have at least 7 words. If it's not, add detail!
COUNSELOR'S CORNER
Safety First! We are learning about all kinds of safety in counseling: fire safety, gun safety, traffic safety, water safety, safety when riding on wheels or in cars and buses and personal safety, such as safe touches and unsafe touches. Students are also learning ways to stay safe: Recognize (Is it safe?), Refuse (Say no) and Report.
