Weekly News at Reidy Creek Elementary School 5/9/2025
Dear Families,
We had a great first week of testing! Students did an excellent job focusing and putting forth their best effort towards both the English Language Arts Computer Adaptive Test and the Performance Task. Many students even shared with me that they felt extremely prepared for the test, and it wasn’t as bad as they expected! Next week is our second week of testing. Third and fourth grade students will be taking the Math test and fifth grade students will be taking the Science test. As a reminder, testing is Tuesday-Friday from 8:15-9:45. Please make sure that your child arrives at school on time. It can make for a hectic morning when students are late.
We had a great week showering our staff with appreciation! A huge thank you to the PTA for providing our staff with a delicious lunch on Thursday from La Taqueria Jalisco.
There’s definitely a lot of end-of-year activities happening over the next several weeks, so be sure to read all communication from your classroom teachers and look at the upcoming dates listed at the bottom of the bulletin.

Book Fair
The Book Fair is next week! This is the BOGO (buy one, get one) event. All classes will be visiting the Book Fair during their regularly scheduled library time. It will be open from 7:30-8:10 and 2:45-3:30 Monday-Thursday if families would like to visit.
Safe, easy and cash free; Parents can login to their Scholastic account to add funds to student e-wallets. Leftover funds from previous sales will appear as an option to use. Book Fair staff can view and print balances for each student at the fair!
Enrollment for Next Year
Enrollment for both new students and returning students will open on May 13th. To best help our planning efforts for next year, please complete enrollment as soon as possible. If you are not returning to Reidy Creek next year, please call the front office to let us know. If you need any assistance with enrollment, please call or visit the front office. We'd be happy to help answer any questions you may have.

Open House and FAVE
Save the date! Open House and the FAVE Art Festival are on Thursday, May 22nd. Teachers and students have been working hard to prepare their classrooms to showcase all of their hard work this year during Open House. Classrooms will be open from 5:00-5:45 pm.
Following Open House will be our FAVE Art Festival. With many games, crafts, artwork, performances, and auction items, it is definitely an event you don't want to miss!
Yearbook Deadline
It's not too late to get a yearbook! Although the link is no longer active, parents can still send in cash or a check to the main office if you'd like to purchase one. Please make sure that your child's name, grade level, and teacher is on the envelope.
Lunch and Learn Dates

5/21/25 - Fourth Grade - Digital Safety
The parent presentations will all be in the MPR 30 minutes before your child's scheduled lunch time. After the presentation, families will be invited to enjoy lunch in the courtyard with their child. Grade level flyers will be sent home closer to each event.
