Welcome to the 2025-26 School Year! Welcome to the 2025-26 School Year!

Dear HSSD Families,

As I reflect on my first year as your superintendent, I want to express my sincere gratitude to each of you. Whether we've connected at school events, meetings, or community gatherings, your support, ideas, and honesty have been extremely important as we look to the future.

🎓Introducing A Framework for Our Future

I'm thrilled to introduce you to A Framework for Our Future, a strategic framework that guides our work from 2025-28. This framework, shaped by your feedback, revolves around four key priority areas:

  • Educational Excellence
  • Staff Experience
  • Student Engagement
  • Operational Excellence and Fiscal Responsibility

Visit our website to learn more about the community engagement journey that led us to A Framework for Our Future.

🗳️Pre-referendum Exploration

We're also gearing up for our facilities and financial future. Following the Board of Education endorsement on April 7, we began a pre-referendum exploration process to look at our long-term needs. This summer, we completed a district-wide facilities assessment and enrollment/population study. Both reports are now available on our website.

Your awareness and involvement will be crucial as we explore referendum possibilities together. Stay tuned for more opportunities to engage this fall, and we hope you'll join us in these important conversations.

⭐️Building a Stronger Future Together

Together, we are laying the groundwork for an even stronger future for HSSD, starting with the 2025-26 school year. This bright future is a place where every voice matters, and every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and unwavering commitment. Enjoy these last few weeks of summer, and I look forward to welcoming you back in September for an exceptional 2025-26 school year!

Sincerely,

Mark Smith
