HILL HAPPENINGS
August 2025
A Message from the Principal
Dear Hill Families,
Whether you’re returning to familiar hallways or joining us for the first time, we are thrilled to have you at Hill Elementary—“the little school with the big heart.”
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing summer break. This is my 19th year in education, and I am truly honored to step into the role of principal this year at Hill Elementary. The opportunity to continue shaping the lives of young learners in this community is both a privilege and a joy.
If you visited during Open House, you may have noticed some exciting updates! Over the summer, Custo Joe worked diligently to give our building a fresh, updated look. New lighting was added in the hallways, along with a fresh coat of paint for the hallways and doors. In addition, we have installed a fence around the property and placed new security film on all entry doors and windows to enhance safety.
Our dedicated teachers and staff have been hard at work for weeks preparing for your child's arrival, and we are ready to welcome students on Monday! I look forward to an amazing year of learning, growth, and partnership with our staff and families.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education—together, we will make this a year to remember!
Respectfully,
Mrs. DuPrey
Proud Principal
New Staff at Hill
🏕️ Please Welcome Our Newest Hill Staff Members! 🐦
We’re thrilled to introduce some amazing new staff joining our Hill family this year!
First, please join us in giving a big campfire welcome to Mrs. DuPrey, our new Principal and "Camp Director"! We are so grateful for your leadership and excited for the adventures ahead under your guidance.
Kindergarten will look a little different this year at Hill Elementary — and we have two wonderful new faces for our youngest "campers" to meet! Mrs. VanEvery in Room 3 and Miss Maule in Room 5 have both moved from Thomson Elementary, and we can’t wait to see all the new adventures our kindergarteners will enjoy with them.
Our Music and STEM programs also have a fresh face — Miss Drinkert! She’ll be helping all our students explore their creativity, curiosity, and problem-solving skills. We can’t wait to watch the amazing growth she inspires!
We’re also happy to welcome Mrs. Demo from Central Elementary as our new school counselor. She’ll be here to support our students needs throughout the year and help ensure every child feels encouraged, understood, and ready to learn.
Returning to Hill, Mrs. Eastridge is back as our Premier Sub. Mrs. Kingsland joins our monitor team, and Mrs. Dean will be our friendly face in the office as our Office Monitor.
Let’s give a warm Camp Hill welcome to all our new team members as we start another year of adventure, learning, and laughter!

First Day of School
Our first day of school is Monday, August 18th. The school day begins at 8:35 am and ends at 3:28 pm. Students will be allowed to enter the building at 8:25 am, collect a free breakfast, if they so desire, and move on to their classroom. When the bell rings, your child will enter the building independently. We will have plenty of staff on hand to assist students so that they get to the right place!
