Let's celebrate the start of the Buffalo Bills season and thank our students for a great first week back to school with a special Dress Down Day on Friday, September 10th.Students may dress down in their Buffalo Bills attire or red, white and blue.

In the interest of student comfort, we have made a permanent change allowing sneakers to be worn with all uniforms.

**Breakfast and Lunch are free for all DeSales Students until June 2022.**

The DeSales Food Service Department, under the direction of Aramark works hard to offer students a delicious and nutritious meal in a clean and inviting atmosphere. Our staff strives to provide a good value while complying with a host of nutritional guidelines and NYS and USDA regulations.

All DeSales volunteers must participate in the Virtus Protecting God’s Children program prior to volunteering. We will be hosting a Virtus training at DeSales on October 7th. Your family should have a received a Student Contact Verification/Emergency Contact Form in the mail in early August. Please review and return your form to the DeSales Main Office as soon as possible. Forms may also be emailed to Mrs. Regina Granchelli at granchellir@desalescatholicschool.org.

The first HSA Meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday, September 21st at 6:30pm in the DeSales Cafeteria.

Come meet our new HSA President, Jim Fox and help us plan for the year!

Singers in grades 6, 7 or 8th are invited to join the Cantors for Christ Choir Group at DeSales. If your student is interested, please have them see Music Teacher, Mrs. Jackie Davis.

DeSales offers before school care for those families that need to drop their children off before 8 a.m. Our before school care program is offered on all regular school days from 6:45 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. The cost is $150 per month, per student, which will be added to your monthly automatic tuition withdrawal during the months of September – June.

Important! Revised September 2021

• Students must wear a mask on the bus at all times.
• Students will sit with siblings when possible.
• Students will be dropped off and picked up at their bus stop. Student in grades Kindergarten and grade one will need to have someone meet them at the bus stop at the end of the day.
• Students will not be allowed to ride home with another student on a different bus.
• If a student will be going home with another parent or not riding the bus at all, they must also email the teacher, assistant principal or school secretary.
• If a student does not have written parent permission but perhaps thinks their plans have changed, it is our school policy to send the student home on their regular bus or follow their regular dismissal plan.
• Walkers who live in the Lockport School District are also not covered under the insurance liability of the bus company, therefore, walkers may not ride a school bus to a friend’s or family’s house.

• Students are expected to act appropriately while riding the bus and are under the supervision of the bus driver. In the event that a student’s behavior is deemed disrespectful or unsafe, the school will be notified. That information will be documented by the driver and the parents will be informed.

• The bus driver’s instructions must be obeyed. Student’s heads, arms and hands are to be kept inside the bus at all times. Emergency doors and windows are not to be touched except in an emergency. Students are to remain seated and inappropriate language and behavior will not be tolerated.
• If bus conduct referrals are issued, students may receive detention. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in loss of transportation privileges.

The administration of DeSales Catholic School is responsible for enforcing these policies and we thank you for your support and your cooperation in this matter.
