Scheduling for the 2026-2027 School Year
Believe it or not, it is already time to start the scheduling process for next school year! Students in grades 8, 9, 10 and 11 attended class meetings on April 9th and were guided through the scheduling process. Students were given access to our updated High School Curriculum Guide and the LHS Scheduling Website, and encouraged to speak with their families to choose the courses they would like to take next year. (Links to the scheduling presentations are included below.)
The School Counselors will be going into classrooms (Grade 8 - April 13th, Grade 9 -April 15th, Grade 10 - April 16th, Grade 11 - April 14th) to answer questions and ensure that students have chosen the correct number of courses for next year. We ask that families speak with their students about their options, and work through this process together.
**The deadline to submit course requests and alternates is Friday, April 24 2026.**
Important Notes:
All students should choose a minimum of 7 courses (180 "Units") for their schedule. They should also choose a minimum of 3 alternate courses that can be added in the event of a schedule conflict. Major courses are already selected for students, cannot be changed by students in Infinite Campus and may be adjusted as we continue to evaluate additional data to place students in appropriate course levels.
Please note, courses will only be offered if there are enough students who sign up for them! We will review the numbers after the request period closes, and use that data to inform the courses we can offer next year.
Caution: If a student does not add an adequate number of courses to their course requests, they risk being placed into classes that they do not want to take!
There are many more specifics within the resources below. If there are any questions throughout the process, please do not be afraid to contact Mrs. deQuevedo (ddequevedo@lakelandsd.org) or Mrs. Wengert (ewengert@lakelandsd.org).
