VOLUNTEERING AT PARKWOOD
At Parkwood Elementary, we love having our families involved in school life! Parents, grandparents, and other family members are always welcome to share their time, talents, and creativity with our students.
There are so many ways to get involved—whether it’s helping out in your child’s classroom once a week, chaperoning a fun field trip, reshelving books in the library, or lending a hand with student clubs and performances. Every bit of help makes a difference!
If you’d like to volunteer in your child’s classroom or a special area, start by chatting with your child’s teacher about the best ways to get involved.
To keep everyone safe, all volunteers must complete the online registration form on the Volunteering at DPS page of the Durham Public Schools website. The form includes your contact information, availability, and interests, as well as a background check. Volunteer applications must be completed each school year for approval.
We can’t wait to see you around Parkwood—thank you for being part of our school community!
