A Message From Ms. Modiest

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our students had a great spirit week learning about the Earth. A big thank you to Ms. Solis for providing each student and staff a plant in honor of earth day. Some of the topics explored was about conservation, how to preserve habitats, and the formation of rainbows. At Wharton, we love to expose our students to as many experiences as possible. Today is the start of the ABC countdown. Be sure to check the calendar daily for the activity of the day. As we head to the final stretch please remind your child to complete all assignments and maintain appropriate behaviors. We would love for our students to remain on task and to be able to participate in all planned end of the year activities.

The district will be offering summer school again this year. Teachers will be sending recommendations in the upcoming weeks. We encourage our Wharton students to continue their educational journey with summer support. Our students will be MAP testing during the month of May. As we approach the end of the year we will continue diving into our academics. Therefore, your support is needed to encourage our students to stay focused and engaged. Let's continue to work together!

Just a reminder: We are tracking tardies. Every 3rd tardy will result in a detention. We want to support our families in developing appropriate practices. Being on time for school and ready to learn is important. Keep in mind our attendance is monitored by the state.

Breakfast will start daily at 7:20 and 8:20 on Wednesday late starts. We will begin school promptly at 7:50 on regular days and 8:50 on late starts. If a child is late please enter Door #4.

We appreciate your support in the following:

*Making sure your child arrives on time and attends daily.

*Completing all classwork and homework assignments.

*Promoting a love for reading.

Sincerely,

Raquel K. Modiest, Principal
