Regular Schedule Begins Tuesday
We begin our regular schedule on Tuesday, September 2. Please review your child's schedule to ensure for correct pick up times. The first eight days was filled with learning many routines and rules and getting to know each other. We are excited to dive into instruction this week!
- All TK Students' Release Time is 1:30 pm Monday through Friday
- All K Students' Release Time is 2:50 pm on M/T/TH/F and 1:35 pm on Wednesdays
Morning Routine
Breakfast is available to students from 8:35 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. Parents, please supervise your students at lunch/breakfast tables. As a reminder, students should not be running around and/or climbing on rocks or in the landscape. Students and families are expected to follow school rules while they are on campus. Limited morning supervision is available starting at 8:35 am. Two staff members are out there to help with bus students and students that do not have an adult with them. If you have to leave before the bell, please let one of the staff members know so that your student is accounted for.
Here are a few updates to help keep you updated:
- Please send your student to school each day with a backpack, refillable water bottle, a healthy snack, and a lunch (unless they are getting a cafeteria lunch).
- Please include a change of clothes in a ziplock bag in their backpack. Potty accidents tend to happen early in the year. We have clothes on hand but having their own tends to make them feel more comfortable.
- We need School Site Council volunteers. If you are interested, please contact the office or email sgreen@alpineschools.net
We LOVE volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, please pick up the required paperwork in the office. Get cleared early if you think you are interested in volunteering in the classroom or for field trips. We need a current TB test and your driver's license along with the application.
Teachers will let their families know of any volunteer opportunities.
- For the safety and security of students and staff, gates are locked during school hours.
CELC’s Back to School Night is scheduled for Thursday, September 4th at 5:15 p.m. Please join us in the Multipurpose room at 5:15 pm for a quick PTA meeting. Rooms open at 5:30 p.m.
- AUSD will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students this school year.
- Breakfast is available at the cafeteria at 8:35 a.m. daily.
- Students may choose to eat a cafeteria lunch or bring a sack lunch from home.
Please report any absences to your child's teacher and the office. Please let the office know the reason your child is out and what symptoms they have. Email Mary Barkely, our amazing Clerk or call the office at 619-659-8250.
Before and after school care is available. Please see the flyer below or contact Aimee Hatfield, AUSD's ESS Coordinator, at ahatfield@alpineschools.net if you have any questions.

We Need Your Help
Since 2013, the State of California has required school districts to collect household
information each year. Recently, the state updated the name of this form to the Universal
Benefits Application (UBA). In the past, Alpine Union School District used a different platform
to collect this information. Beginning with the 2025–26 school year, the District will now collect
the required information through ParentVUE in the Synergy student registration system.
The State uses this data to determine how much funding Alpine Union School District receives,
which directly impacts the number of programs and services we can provide for our students.
Please fill out the UBA to help us get Title I funding for our schools. If we qualify, it will help fund programs and other supports for students. Please go to ParentVUE and follow the step by step instructions below.
AUSD LCAP Goals
The Governor's budget for education mandated that every school district in California needs to update its Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) is a component of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). The LCAP is intended to be a three-year plan to improve student achievement by setting annual goals for the district in eight priority areas. Each of the priorities has established data requirements to track district progress improving student achievement. The LCAP requires Districts to gather input from students, teachers, parents, and community members to determine the goals, actions, and budget priorities for the District. Our District staff worked together with all of our stakeholder groups to gather input and create our Local Control Accountability Plan. Here are AUSD's 2025-26 LCAP Goals:
Goal #1: All AUSD Students will demonstrate growth will demonstrate growth in mastering both English Language Arts and mathematics standards and all English Language Learners will demonstrate growth in developing English language proficiency.
Goal #2: AUSD will cultivate a positive school climate where students and staff feel connected, engaged, safe, and supported.
Goal #3: AUSD will increase family and parent engagement within our schools with a focus on actively engaging families from underrepresented groups, ensuring equitable participation.
You can view/download a copy of our approved LCAP by clicking on the link below.

District, School, and Grade Level Goals
In AUSD's ongoing commitment to enhancing student achievement, they are setting goals for each school, classroom and the district this year. AUSD's targets include a 10% increase in ELA, Math, and Science scores, alongside a 10% reduction in chronic absenteeism, aiming for a 96% attendance rate. Our staff is dedicated and will work as a team to reach these goals. As partners in your child's hybrid homeschool program, let’s unite our efforts to support your student and turn these objectives into achievements. Together, we can make a significant impact and drive real progress.

Take 5
Have you ever asked your child how their day was or what they did? Do you often get a one word response like "nothing" or "fine". Try using our Take 5 Questions to help get more thought provoking answers. It is a great opportunity to connect with your child, learn more about their experiences at school, and help them build their language skills.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Book List
Our amazing School Social Worker, Camryn McInerney , created a list of recommended read aloud books. This is another great way to connect with your students. Choose one of your favorite books or one on her list and make reading with your child a regular habit.
