District recognized for Best Contest on social media 🏆
Walled Lake Consolidated Schools was honored by #SocialSchool4Edu in its 2025 Best of Social Media Awards for the second-straight year.
The district won the award of Best Contest for its annual Summer Scavenger Hunt, which was created to engage with families and the local community while providing a fun and free activity during summer break. Each week a clue was posted on social media from one of our 23 buildings and the first person to find us took home a summer themed prize pack filled with WLCSD swag. There were also special prizes for people that arrived at the location after the winner.

Pleasant Lake Elementary wins big by losing 🔌

The award, which is presented annually by the Michigan Green Building Collaborative (MiGBC), highlighted Pleasant Lake Elementary for reducing its energy costs by almost 17% in 2024 as a result of upgrades from the 2019 Bond.
The building upgrades took place in the summer of 2023 and included improvements to the building envelope, installation of high efficiency equipment and enhancements to the energy management system.
“It is an honor to accept this award on behalf of Walled Lake Consolidated Schools,” said the district’s energy manager Melinda Miller. “This achievement is a reflection of the unwavering support of our community, whose approval of the 2019 Bond made these projects possible. We are proud to continue building a brighter future together.”
