The Wallin Way Weekly Newsletter
November 7, 2025
Good Evening K9 Families,
What a wonderful, though short, week it has been at Wallin Oaks! It was so great to welcome families into the building for Parent-Teacher Conferences and see so many meaningful conversations happening about students and their progress. These meetings are such an important opportunity for collaboration, and we are grateful for your partnership in supporting your child’s learning and growth.
We also want to take a moment to recognize the hard work of our teachers and staff who continue to create a welcoming and engaging learning environment every day. Your support, questions, and insights during conferences help us ensure that every student has the best possible experience at school.
And don’t forget about our canned food drive! Information about how to participate can be found later in this newsletter.
Thank you again for being part of our school community. We hope you enjoy a relaxing and wonderful weekend, and we look forward to another great week ahead!

School Information
Attendance and Transportation Reminders
We kindly ask all families to notify both the classroom teacher and the main office if your student will be absent for any reason. Clear communication helps us ensure accurate attendance records and maintain a safe, organized school environment.
Additionally, if there are any changes to your child’s transportation plans—such as switching from a bus rider to a car rider—please inform the main office directly. Our office staff will relay the information to the appropriate teacher.
Lastly, for the safety and efficiency of our drop-off procedure, please pull all the way forward in the car line and have students exit the vehicle on the side of the school.
Thank you for helping us keep everything running smoothly!
Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders
Morning Drop Off
For the safety of all students, we kindly ask that families do not park at Ira Jones during morning drop-off. Instead, please use the designated car line, which is designed to keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.
To help maintain a steady flow, we also ask that drivers remain in their vehicles at all times during drop-off. Following these procedures ensures a safe and smooth start to the day for everyone.
Afternoon Pick Up
Please remember to turn off your car while waiting to pick up your student after school. Running cars pose a safety risk for students and teachers walking up and down the car lines, and it's also important to reduce the fumes in the air for everyone’s health. Thank you for helping us keep our school environment safe and healthy!

Veterans Day Celebration!
We are honored to invite our veterans and active-duty service members to join us for our Veterans Day Celebration on Tuesday, November 11th at Wallin Oaks Elementary School.
The morning will begin with a light breakfast in our Media Center at 8:30 a.m.. Once school begins at 9:05 a.m., our students will line the hallways for a Veterans Parade, cheering on and thanking our guests for their service and sacrifice.
Following the parade, veterans will have the opportunity to visit grade levels to chat with students, share their experiences, and answer questions about their time in service.
Please complete this form if you are interested in participating in this meaningful celebration. We look forward to honoring you and expressing our heartfelt gratitude for your service!
