Dear MUHS Students and Families,

We could not have asked for better weather for our Spring Fling festivities this afternoon. We enjoyed a full-school BBQ catered by our phenomenal kitchen team, live music by a mash up of MUHS student bands, lawn games, and other activities. It was a great way to ease into a holiday weekend, and it was fun to spend time together as a community as we wind down the 2025-2026 academic year.

Warmly,

Caitlin Steele, Principal

Ben Weir, Assistant Principal

Sean Farrell, Activities Director

Julie Pettis, Student Response Coordinator

Announcements Announcements

Seniors -- it's time to return your Yondr pouches.

As you wrap up your time at MUHS, please bring your Yondr pouch into the front office at any point next week and hand it to Emaly or Lauren.

Our expectation is that even once you have turned your Yondr pouch in, you will keep your phone stowed in your bag during the school day. Phones seen outside of bags will still result in consequences in line with the school's policy.

Science Department Travel

The Science Department is planning a trip in February 2027 to the Grand Canyon, Bryce, and Zion. This trip is open to all students that will be taking an MUHS science class during the 26-27 school year. Interested students and parents should email Ms. Manley, lmanley@acsdvt.org for more information about the trip and our upcoming June 4th information meeting.

Grade 10 Personal Project Panel

On Thursday, a group of 10th graders participated in a panel discussion with our 9th graders to describe their experiences with the Grade 10 Personal Project, share what they learned, and offer advice as our 9th graders begin to think about what they might like to do for theirs.

Our panel (mostly pictured below) did a wonderful job articulating what the process was like for them and answering questions from their younger peers. Thank you to Maya, Jackson, Killian, Henry, McKenna, Leif, Emily and Daniela for being willing to contribute to our school community!

Unified Basketball

Another amazing season of Unified basketball came to an end on Tuesday, with the Tigers falling to Burlington in the state championship game. Unified basketball is a unique sport that aims to foster a competitive and inclusive experience for our student-athletes and strengthen our school's inclusive community. Although we came up a little short in our bid to repeat as state champions, our season was a complete success. We represented Middlebury by competing hard, demonstrated sportsmanship, playing as a team, and we supported each other along the way. We finished our regular season with a record of 7-1. We defeated Milton and Brattleboro in the first two rounds of the playoffs to earn our program's third overall trip to the finals.

The championship game started slow, and we fell behind in the second quarter, but we made a run towards the end of the first half to come within two points of Burlington at halftime. In the second half, Burlington grew their lead with consistent scoring and tough defense. We had an off shooting night, but we never quit and finished the game with our heads held high. Our scoring was led by Connor Swan. Tyreese Tucker led our team in rebounds. Colton led the team in steals, and Bug played really strong defense. Miley swished a 3-point shot near the end of the game. Ethan hustled and sparked us with high energy. Wyatt had a balanced game of good defense, passing, and rebounding. Ariel had numerous assists and led our team with a positive attitude and a big heart.

The teamwork and positive spirit that our team demonstrated this season was inspiring. We wish our two seniors, Tyreese and Ariel, the best and thank them for their commitment to Unified basketball. We’d also like to thank our school and community for supporting our team this season!
