The Weekly Update #4
July 12th, 2024

April 2025
⭐Every Tiger, Every Day, Without Exception⭐
RES Mission: Learning, Loving and Growing Together
RES Vision: Equipping Everyone for Excellence
I can’t believe we are already in the last nine weeks of the school year! It has been an incredible year, and I am so proud of the hard work and growth we’ve seen in our students. Let’s keep that momentum going and finish strong!
As we approach GA Milestone testing the week of April 21st, please encourage your child to put forth their best effort. A good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast each morning will help set them up for success.
Students are also working toward our PBIS Summer Kickoff celebration! Remind your child to stay focused on maintaining good grades, good attendance, and good behavior so they can enjoy this exciting reward.
Thank you for your continued support—we appreciate our Tiger families!
Go Tigers!

Spring Survey
Thank you so much for completing the Title 1 Spring Survey in March! We had 200 families fill out the survey, which is 46% of our school! The students received a free Frosty coupon from Wendy's! The classroom with the highest percentage of parents return the survey was Mrs. Sander's 5th grade class! They will get an ice cream sundae party in April to celebrate!
We will share the results of this survey (both RES and the whole school system) in our virtual Parent Advisory Meeting that is coming up on April 15th.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
In February and March RES held our Spring Parent-Teacher conferences. Overall our teachers met with almost 350 families!
Thank you to all the families who took the time to meet with your child's teachers! We value your involvement in your child's education!
If you did not get a chance to have a parent-teacher conference, but would like one, please reach out to your teacher.
Parent Advisory Meeting
We will be sending out the Title 1 Parent Advisory Meeting on Tuesday April 15th. Please look for a flyer in your student's folder that day with a QR code to scan to access the meeting SMORE. It will also be sent out on Dojo.

Milestones Resources
RES students will take the Georgia Milestones assessments April 21st-24th.
A variety of resources are available to acquaint parents with the Georgia Milestones assessments. Below are brief descriptions of each resource to assist students and families in locating important information.
John Hancock Challenge
Beginning this month classes will be competing with each other to see if they can have 90% of their class independently and correctly sign their name in cursive. As spring approaches we will hopefully be able to get outside more for some of our science lessons.
Some of our 5th graders have already begun cleaning out the pollinator garden and getting it ready for a new season.
Butterfly larvae have already arrived and we are patiently waiting for butterflies to emerge.
3rd grade students will be starting a study on Van Gough and completing an art piece using a type of rock/mineral. Hmmm?
4th grade students will find out the champion of the March Mammal Madness and then complete their animal creations.
5th grade students have finished the electricity unit and will be moving on to cells and extracting DNA.
Please do not forget 5th Science Fair projects are due May 2nd. I hope all 5th graders have been working on their project. Remember Science Fair is mandatory!
Have a supefantabulous Spring Break!

RES Read-a-Thon
Ringgold Elementary School has decided to hold a Read-A-Thon again this year!
Read-A-Thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.
Our Read-A-Thon starts Monday April 7, 2025.
We are sending home the Read-A-Thon instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.
We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/lFgNBp/1 and following the simple instructions.
We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.
We hope EVERYONE participates. Start logging minutes Monday April 7, 2025.
Thanks so much,
Mrs. Crawford
