A Message From Mrs. Carmody
Dear Fremont Families,
We have officially reached the final week of the school year! It has been an absolute joy watching your children grow, learn, and achieve so much over the last ten months. As we wrap up our final lessons and celebrate our collective successes, I want to extend a thank you to all of our parents and guardians. Your partnership, volunteer hours, and daily support at home are the true backbone of our school community. We could not have crossed this finish line without you.
Please be on the lookout next week, as final assessment reports (K-2nd grade students-FastBridge and 2nd grade students-CogAT) will be sent home with students. MAP scores for K-2nd grade students will be emailed. Please check your child’s backpack daily. These reports provide a snapshot of their academic progress and growth this year, offering insights as they transition to the next grade level. Along with reports, you will likely find a wealth of different objects from their lockers! 😀
Have a wonderful weekend!
Warmly,
Beth Carmody

Second Grade Brings Tikki Tikki Tembo to the Stage
The second-grade classrooms were full of excitement this week for their performance of Tikki Tikki Tembo. The students spent weeks practicing their lines and cues, and all that hard work definitely paid off. It was a fun show for everyone involved. Congratulations to our second graders on a great performance!

ES Field Day - June 4th
Our Elementary School Field Day is on Thursday, June 4th! Students are asked to wear their classroom spirit t-shirts and closed toe gym shoes for this fun day. Please send your child with a water bottle that is labeled with their name to take outside with them. Each class will be outside for an hour, you may want to put sunscreen on your child. This is always such a fun day for the students!
FastBridge Family Report - Coming Home Soon!
This coming week, please look for your child’s reading FastBridge Family Report in their Friday folder. This assessment, given three times a year, provides valuable information on our students’ progress towards reading proficiency. The report will show how your child is currently progressing towards grade-level expectations and how they compare to peers both nationally and within the FSD79. This overview guide (English, Spanish) can serve as a helpful resource when reading the report.
While these assessment results are strong indicators of academic growth and proficiency, they are not the only measure of your child’s progress. When thinking about how well your child is performing academically, please take into consideration your child’s daily school performance, classwork, homework, projects, quizzes, and classroom tests.
If you have any questions (or your child’s report does not make it home) we encourage you to reach out to their teacher.
May – The Final Stretch
Library Books Due Now!
Please remind your child(ren) to return their library books to the library. We have several hundred books that haven't been returned and they are due now.
District Cafeteria Updates for 26-27 School Year
We are upgrading our school menus this coming school year to place a stronger focus on student nutrition. Families will see healthier food options introduced throughout the Intermediate and Middle Schools, and ice cream will no longer be an option in the Elementary School cafeteria. We believe the school day is the perfect time to focus on healthy fuel, leaving ice cream to be enjoyed as a fun treat outside of school. Thank you for your understanding and support!
Summer Construction Information
As we approach the end of the school year, various construction projects will begin in and around our Fremont schools. We ask that you please take note of the following items.
Business Hours
District summer hours are as follows, starting June 8 through July 31, 2026:
Monday through Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
School Building Access
The elementary, intermediate, and middle schools are receiving upgraded secure vestibules, which will result in some changes to the main entryway to the schools.
Elementary School: Door 1 will remain the main entrance to the school. Summer school students and approved visitors will proceed through the gymnasium.
Intermediate School: Visitors should proceed to Door 22, nearest to the intermediate school parking lot at the front of the building and south of the normal main entrance.
Middle School: Visitors should proceed to Door 2 at the front of the building, south of the normal main entrance.
Exterior doors are numbered, and signage will be utilized to indicate the new primary entryways at the intermediate and middle schools.
Construction Zones
School visitors during the summer should be aware of active construction areas around our buildings and grounds and remain clear of designated construction zones and equipment. Construction zones will be clearly marked with appropriate signage and barriers. Please ensure you and/or your child adhere to signage and stay clear of equipment while on district property.
Thank you for your compliance and understanding to ensure everyone’s safety.
MEDICATION PICK-UP INFORMATION
Fremont School District has set up guidelines for the administration and transportation of medications at school. These guidelines have been established in order to ensure the safety and well being of all children.
Parents/Guardians are responsible for picking up any medication at the end of the school year. All medication, including inhalers and Epi-Pens, must be picked up by 3:00pm JUNE 12, 2026. Please make arrangements to pick up your child’s medication.
MEDICATION WILL NOT BE SENT HOME ON THE BUS WITH YOUR CHILD. ANY MEDICATIONS LEFT AFTER JUNE 12 WILL BE DISPOSED OF.
If your child will be attending any summer school programs, please let the nurse know so that those medications can be sent to the appropriate building. Summer school medications MUST be picked up on the last day of their summer school session.
As a reminder, new Medication Authorization Forms will need to be filled out by the child’s physician each school year. Forms can be found on the school website in the Health Services - Fremont School District 79 section.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter. If you have any questions, please contact the health office.
Summer Online Learning Access
This Summer Online Learning Access document highlights the programs that students have access to over the summer, should you wish to access them for independent summer learning.
