In Libris Libertas

Welcome to the library's newsletter. I share news at the end of each nine weeks. As always, let me know if you have suggestions!

Vids is a new tool that students and teachers can use to create videos. This is fully integrated in our Google Workspace, so people can collaborate on projects and pull content from Google Drive.

Work is ongoing in the library since the flood on February 10. I do not have an estimate on when it will be finished. In the meantime, I have been pushing into classrooms to teach lessons, promoting eBook use, circling the building with "library on a cart" selections for check out, and delivering books based on requests. Let me know if you would like to schedule time with me!

Google Classroom now has a Gemini tab on the left that helps teachers to use AI to create content such as quizzes, rubrics and more. We'll explore some of these at our in-service day on May 1, but feel free to explore! I'm happy to help.

(Note: Circulation is about half of what it usually is due to the library flood. Some students have been checking out library books via mobile cart and request form, but others are borrowing from classroom libraries, MackinVIA eBooks, and elsewhere.)

Our library program is most effective when we work together. My library standards are aligned with your PA Core standards to encourage maximum collaboration. I would love to plan and teach lessons with you involving research, literacy, and technology. Stop by or e-mail me if you'd like to discuss ideas.
