Dear River Mill Families,

Hello Timber Families,

We’re just one week away from Spring Break! This week, there will be no school on Friday to allow teachers dedicated time to assess student progress on Essential Learning Targets and enter grades in preparation for our upcoming Student-Led Conferences on Monday, March 31st, and Tuesday, April 1st. These conferences are a valuable opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning and share their progress with you. Please use the link below to sign up for a time that works best for your family: https://ptcfast.com/schools/River_Mill_Elementary_1. We look forward to seeing you there!

Child Abuse Awareness Month is observed annually in the United States during the month of April. During this month, our amazing school counselors will be working in classrooms to teach our required lessons on child abuse awareness and promote prevention efforts. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Rhonda Harris or Kelly Jo Bohrer.

Thank you for your continued support—we appreciate our River Mill families!

At River Mill, we want to ensure every student has the best opportunity to learn and grow each day. Recently, we’ve noticed an increase in tardies and early pick-ups, and we want to remind families how important it is for students to be at school on time and stay for the full day. Arriving late can cause students to miss important instruction, while leaving early means they may not get the full benefit of their learning time. Every minute in the classroom matters! We understand that occasional appointments and emergencies happen, but whenever possible, please schedule these outside of school hours. Thank you for your support in making sure your child gets the most out of their school day!

Attendance Matters Attendance Matters

Did you know that many of our youngest students miss about 10% of the school year—around 14 days, or just two days a month? This level of chronic absenteeism in elementary school can predict lower test scores and challenges with retention in later grades. Every day and every minute of school matters, contributing to your child's growth and success! Please help us support your child's learning by ensuring they attend school every day and arrive on time. Thank you for partnering with us to build strong habits for lifelong learning!
