Principal's Message From Dr. Otway
Dear College Park Elementary Families,
Due to inclement weather, school will operate remotely on Monday, January 26, 2026. Students will participate in an asynchronous learning day, meaning they will complete the choice board assignment that was sent home on Friday, January 23, 2026.
We understand some families may be experiencing power or internet outages, so the assignments were designed to offer flexible options that can be completed without technology if needed.
Please note that all school buildings will be closed, and all programs and activities are canceled for the day.
Please stay safe and warm. If you have any questions or need assistance, contact your child’s teacher by email or ClassDojo.
With appreciation,
Dr. Maisha N. Otway
Principal, College Park Elementary School

Which House Will Have The Highest Engagement?
This week, students will come home with the GADOE family enagement flyer. Parents, College Park Elementary needs your feedback, and the time to share it is now through the Georgia School Climate Survey! Your input plays a vital role in helping us understand what we’re doing well and how we can continue to grow and support our students, families, and school community. Every response truly matters and this year our goal is for 311 of our families to provide us with essential feedback.
To make things even more exciting, we’re turning feedback into a friendly competition! 🏆
The House with the highest number of completed surveys will earn an Ice Cream Party 🍦
The Grade Level with the most responses will enjoy a Pizza Party 🍕
The Class with the highest participation will be treated to Popcorn Express 🍿
Your participation makes a difference—and it brings a little fun along the way! Thank you for taking a few moments to share your voice and help make our school the best it can be.

4th grade STEM in Action
Fourth grade science is shining bright in Hamlet’s homeroom! 📸 These action photos capture students fully engaged in a hands-on investigation of transparent, translucent, and opaque objects. With curious minds and busy hands, students tested materials, made observations, and shared discoveries as they explored how light travels (or doesn’t!) through different objects.
Accelerated Reader Kick Off
This week, we kicked off our Accelerated Reader program in the library. Students in grades 3–5 are participating in the program by taking AR quizzes designed to assess their reading comprehension and overall understanding of the books they’ve read. The Accelerated Reader program encourages independent reading while helping students build strong literacy skills. Pictured is Ms. Offord’s third-grade class engaged in taking their AR quizzes.
