As the holiday season approaches, we are reaching out to families to see if we can be of assistance. The Mad River Valley Interfaith Council offers two programs to our school community.

• Thanksgiving Turkey Baskets - Turkey with all the fixings. If you are interested in receiving one, please fill out this form by Wednesday, November 18th. The baskets can be picked up at the Waitsfield Church or delivered to your home. If you need assistance completing the form, please let Deirdre Fennelly or Heidi Greene know.

• Joys of the Season Coupon Booklets - Coupon booklets are available to help families with holiday shopping! Each participating family will receive a booklet filled with coupons to use at local stores, totaling $80 per child. When you receive your booklet, it will include a list of participating stores where the coupons can be presented. Please let us know by Friday, November 13th if you are interested, so we can submit our request to the Interfaith Council.

We are looking for 2-3 support staff members to join our team and currently have the following openings :

• A .5 FTE position for grade levels K-6

• A 1.0 FTE position PreK level position that is 50% classroom assistant & 50% 1:1 PreK student support or....

• Two separate .5 FTE positions (a 50% classroom assistant AND a 50% 1:1 PreK student support)

The ideal candidate will be positive, energetic, and ready to enjoy working in our family-centered community. This position follows the school schedule and includes a full benefits package. This can be a great job for those with children or looking to explore working in education.

November Family Conferences

• Conferences can be scheduled November 16-19 for Kindergarten-6th Graders
• Parents can sign up for 20 min slots (with a 5 minute break between)
• Conference Sign up link here will open for sign ups November 2-12
• After you choose 'The Warren School' you can look up your student by their birthdate.

The dynamic programming here at our school requires substitutes, whether it's helping Yuko in the kitchen or supporting students' days in a classroom. Subbing in our school is a perfect way to support our school and have the same work schedule as your own students,

"We still have 3 open spots for this year's Stark Mountain Foundation Children's Ski Scholarship Program; we are on track to support 22 athletes this season (up from 20 last season). I wanted to provide you with some related updates and confirm your continued support.

Returning Athletes Confirmed:
The program targets all HUUSD elementary schools. 17 of our 20 athletes from last year's program have reapplied and been awarded returning athlete scholarships for this upcoming winter. We launched a new "sibling program" that accelerates the application and award process for returning athlete families. We have awarded 2 out of the 3 sibling athlete applications this year. Working with Alpine Options we already have lease packages setup for half of our athletes and they are committed to outfitting all of our children! We are very grateful for their ongoing support, especially as they have new owners this year who are carrying this partnership forward.

Seeking New Athletes (3):
The sweet spot of our eligibility criteria seeks to find children that would not otherwise have an opportunity to ski on the weekends like many of their classmates; financial and household circumstances are considered as part of the process. We look to build skills as early as child-appropriate, favoring 4-7 year olds as part of this elementary school program. Our goal is to work with each school to ensure awareness of the program, alignment with PTA winter sports program readiness processes. We currently have 5 applications against these 3 open spots showing similar demand to the past few years.
