FATHER'S DAY PRAYER
God, bless all the fathers in the world.
Guide them to be good role models and
loving to all their children.
Help them to be a father like You are.
Give them grace and patience to handle situations
in a loving way.
Amen
FATHER'S DAY
I wish all Father’s and Grandfathers a wonderful Father’s Day this Sunday.
Our Year 2 Classes presented a very enjoyable Father’s Day Assembly today. I liked their retells about their dads and thanking their dad for just being their dad. Some of the information presented was extremely empathetic and related so well to the families. The song and poem presented topped off an amazing assembly.
I really enjoyed seeing all of the Fathers Grandfathers and Significant Adults that attended our breakfast at school this morning. A special thank you is extended to the P&F who put on an amazing spread. It was also good to see the pride that the children had in showing their fathers their classrooms. I must also mention the amazing work of Sarah Knox and her many amazing volunteers that made the event the success it was.
Spending time in the classrooms this morning, meant that parents were able to enjoy the fabulous work that their children have produced over this term. Their family members were extremely proud of them and the students were very pleased to share their work.
The work that the students have been completing is extremely good and what makes it even better is their pride in showing it to their fathers.
A great morning was had by all, and we thank you for attending.
THANK YOU
I conclude my short stay as Principal at Padbury Catholic Primary School this afternoon, with great memories and fondness in my heart. I sincerely appreciate the wonderful time that I have had. I have enjoyed meeting and working with the children, staff and parents. You have a very vibrant and close-knit community here, which is a credit to you all. We have been maintaining a very strong work ethic and continue to achieve solid learning foundations for our students.
Kind regards and best wishes to you all for the future.
Sam Fontaine.
RETURNING
Welcome back to Mr Baker who recommences in his role as Principal from Monday. While Mr Baker has been on leave, he has expressed to me his desire to return to this wonderful school and continue from where he had left off. I have had a thorough handover with Mr Baker, and he is looking forward to finishing the term with you at Padbury Catholic Primary School.
FACTION CARNIVAL
Athletic, forms are an important part of the Physical Education Program at Padbury Catholic Primary School, culminating in the school carnival. The faction carnival will be held next Friday 11th September. Our jumps and throws events will be held on Monday 7th and Wednesday 9th September. Everyone is welcome to join us for these events.
Congratulations are extended to the children, who have been so eager to participate at running club and other training programs. May all their hard work and training pay off. I wish all competitors the very best of luck and hope that you all achieve your own personal best!
Please refer to the information that was sent home by Ms Altham, which has all of the details.
OUR VALUED AND WONDERFUL EDUCATION ASSISTANTS
Today is Education Assistant Day and our school would not operate or even be the same without these wonderful and dedicated staff members.
We all hope that you have had a great day and know that you are all truly valued.
URSTRONG
Forgiveness can be a tricky friendship skill. In Friendology, students are taught the steps to put out Friendship Fires. When they have shared their feelings, listened, repaired the hurt and put the fire all the way out, they can move forward to forgive and forget.
As FRIENDOLOGY reminds us, challenges in friendships can help relationships grow stronger when they are worked through with care and respect.

Performing Arts
The Performing Arts Festival will conclude next week, and the final Concert and Award presentation will be held on Monday 15th September at the Marist Auditorium, Newman College. Tickets are available through the Spirit of the Arts website. This concert is a showcase of the best performances from across the festival and incudes choirs, orchestras, bands, dance items and soloists.
Congratulations to all the students from Padbury CPS who participated in the solo instrumental sections this year and a special mention to those who received an Award. The certificates will arrive before the end of the term and will be presented to the students.
Congratulations to Owen for being invited to perform his Bass Solo in a play-off for the shield this Friday. We wish him well and look forward to finding out if he won the shield for the Instrumental Solo section. If he is selected, the Shield will be presented to him at the Festival concert.
One Big Voice
One Big Voice 2026 was held at the RAC Arena and was a fantastic experience for the Yr 5 students who participated. Congratulations to all the students involved, they were absolutely amazing. They gave up their lunchtimes to learn the songs and choreography and practised them at home. All the songs chosen for One Big Voice are always positive, uplifting and include a range of styles. This makes it fun to learn, and it is hard to choose a favourite when they’re all great songs.
Congratulations, and a huge well done, to Isla T for being selected to perform in a small vocal group for the song ‘Say What You Mean’. It takes a lot of courage to audition in the first place and then even more to perform in front of so many people. Congratulations also to Cameron H for being selected to join the Step Up Choir. This is a first step towards possibly auditioning for the Studio Choir in the future. We wish her well with this training opportunity and look forward to seeing what the future holds.

Celebrating 180 Years of Mercy
To commemorate 180 years since the arrival of the Mercy Sisters in Australia, our students worked alongside their buddies to create a beautiful tiled mosaic artwork featuring hands forming a heart symbolising our school motto "Love One Another."
Each tile came together to create a powerful symbol of faith, kindness, compassion, and community, reflecting the Mercy values that continue to inspire us today.
Thank you to Mrs Bastow, Mrs Ewen, and Mrs Sadowski for coordinating this meaningful project and helping our students create something truly special.

Edu-Dance
Our Edu-Dance concerts are fast approaching!
The first concert will take place on Tuesday, 15th of September for all Orange classes.
Our second concert will take place on Thursday, 17th of September for all White classes.
All concerts start at 2:15pm sharp in the Hall.
On the day of the concerts, the school gates will be open at 1.15pm (at the end of lunch) and parents are welcome to follow the cones near the Ninja playground to park on the oval.
We remind all families that the staff carpark bays are NOT to be used and to leave the parking straight outside Administration for elderly people and those with ACROD stickers.
You can always drop your family members off and then proceed down to the oval to park your vehicle. You are also not permitted to park in the kiss and ride area in the main carpark.
The doors to the hall will not open until just before the concert. From 1:15pm onwards, you are asked to assemble in a queue in the undercover area and after all the children are seated in the hall, one of the doors to the foyer will be opened and 20 people at a time will enter and be seated, under the guidance of the teachers.
Seats are not to be saved and young children need to be seated on a parent’s lap. Also, siblings attending school, who are not at the concert performing, are not to be taken out of class to attend. Class teachers will facilitate this.
We hope you enjoy our 2026 Edu-Dance Concerts!

Celebrating Book Week at PCPS
What a wonderful day of celebration and imagination we enjoyed during our Book Week festivities at PCPS! Our school was a vibrant showcase of creativity as students and staff arrived dressed as their favourite literary characters. From beloved classics to modern-day heroes, the enthusiasm and effort on display were truly remarkable.
Our Book Week Parade was a highlight of the day, providing an opportunity for everyone to showcase their costumes and celebrate the stories and characters that have captured their imaginations. It was a joyful reminder of the important role books play in inspiring curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of reading.
A sincere thank you to our students, families, and staff for embracing the spirit of Book Week with such enthusiasm. Your support helped create a memorable celebration that reflected the power of storytelling and the rich reading culture within our school community.
📚 Books have the unique ability to inspire, educate, challenge our thinking,
and take us on incredible adventures.
