Dear SME Eagle Families,

We are certainly enjoying our Eagles and our first days back at school. It has been a very smooth start!

Next week, we will recognize our partnership with grandparents. Grandparents hold a special place in a child’s life, offering love, wisdom, encouragement, and a connection to family traditions and memories. As a school family, we are grateful for the grandparents who support, encourage, and celebrate our students each day, helping them grow into confident and caring individuals. We want to honor our grandparents with a special breakfast.

Here's how it works:

On the day listed below, grandparents will enter the cafeteria with the student. The student will go through the line and get breakfast. The grandparents will get coffee and a muffin and meet the student at a table. If the tables are full, you can also eat outside at the picnic tables or on the bleachers. At 8:00 (ish), we will wrap things up and students will head to class. Grandparents can walk them to class and then exit the building by 8:10 at the latest.

We appreciate our grandparents and are excited to recognize them for partnering with us to help our Eagles learn, lead, and soar!

With Eagle Pride,
Melissa Terry
Principal, Six Mile Elementary

Best of the Nest

Each month our school focuses on a character trait for our students. Mrs. Orr goes into classrooms and teaches lessons to develop this trait. We also talk about it on the school news program.

This month our word is CREATIVITY. We will honor students that show this at our Best of the Nest party at the end of the month.
