Wednesday's Words

Dear Families,
I hope you are having a wonderful summer and enjoying time with your families and friends. We are very excited to be welcoming our students back to school at the end of the month and are looking forward to a rewarding new year of learning! Teachers have worked hard this summer developing curriculum, setting up classrooms and planning fun and challenging learning experiences for your children. In addition, secretarial, nursing, food service and custodial staff have put in many hours to make sure the buildings are organized, clean and ready to open. Administrators have been busy interviewing and hiring staff, working on schedules and getting ready for the start of the school year. Technology staff have been updating district equipment and preparing for new curricular programs. We have a great team here in Norfolk, all collaborating to ensure a smooth transition for our students into the new school year!
The first day of school for students in grades 1-6 is Wednesday, August 27th. Kindergarten students will visit their classrooms on August 27th with their parents/guardians. Information was sent out earlier this month to all incoming K families. If you did not receive the information, please contact the H. Olive Day School office. During the first few days of school, we will have additional staff members available to help make sure everyone finds their new classrooms and gets settled in smoothly.
Included in this newsletter you will find information about the school lunch program, bus routes and some employment opportunities available in our school district. For additional information about the Norfolk Public Schools, please visit our website at www.norfolk.k12.ma.us.
Enjoy the final days of summer. We can’t wait to hear the happy voices of students back in our buildings in the next couple of weeks!
Sincerely,
Ingrid Allardi
