Community Soup

Students learned all about communities in Social Studies. We learned that communities are places where people live, work, and solve problems. We then worked together to design our very own communities. Check out our awesome work! We also read the book Community Soup by Alma Fullerton. We saw how Kioni’s community was very different from ours. Kioni and her community worked together to solve the problem of trying to find Kioni’s goats! Given what we learned, we created our own community soup full of traits we would want members of our community to have.

Custodian Appreciation Day

School Custodian Appreciation Day is Saturday, October 2nd. From all of us at Tawanka, we want to say "Wow" and "Thank You" for all you do! Our school sparkles because of you!

Art

In art this week Officer Zaffino joined in to create a collage cupcake with Mrs. Fedele’s class! We talked about the artist Wayne Thiebaud and created our own cupcakes inspired by the artist. We learned about colors, lines, and shapes!

Mrs. Phillips

Hi! I am Mrs. Phillips. I am new to the Tawanka team and very happy to be here as a second grade teacher! I live in Langhorne with my husband and son. We love spending time outside as a family and visiting different places in the area. When I get some time alone I enjoy reading and shopping. I look forward to being part of the Neshaminy team for many many years to come!

Late Arrivals & Early Dismissals

Students arriving at 9:10 am or later must be signed in to the office by an adult. No exceptions.

We encourage regular attendance and ask that you please make appointments for your child outside of the school day if possible. However, if your child will need an early dismissal, please inform their teacher the date, time & who will be picking them up. Photo ID is always required to pick up a student.
