Message to Families: Junior/Senior “Assassins” Game on Campus
We want to make you aware of an ongoing issue involving the junior/senior “Assassins” game. While many students see this as a fun tradition, the game has increasingly caused disruptions on campus and, more concerningly, resulted in injuries to both students and staff this week.
Please know that Great Oak High School does not condone participation in this activity during the school day or on school grounds. Any student who engages in behavior that violates school rules, for example, but not limited to:
- Caused, attempted to cause, or threatened to cause physical injury to another person.
- Willfully used force or violence upon the person of another, except in self-defense.
Disrupted school activities or otherwise willfully defied the valid authority of supervisors, teachers,
administrators, school officials, or other school personnel engaged in the performance of their duties.
Caused or attempted to cause damage to school property or private property.
Committed an obscene act or engaged in habitual profanity or vulgarity.
as part of this game will face appropriate disciplinary consequences.
We strongly encourage you to speak with your student(s) about this game and ask that you encourage them to refrain from playing it while on campus or during school activities. Our priority is always to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment for everyone.
Thank you for your partnership in helping keep Great Oak a positive and safe place for all members of our Wolfpack community.

CalKIDS Program
The California Kids Investment and Development Savings Program (CalKIDS) was launched in 2022 by the State of California with a clear mission: make it easier for more children to save for their future education.
Administered by the ScholarShare Investment Board, CalKIDS takes the initiative by automatically offering newborns and eligible low-income public school children in California an initial seed deposit, along with other potential financial incentives. This ensures that they can start their college and career savings journey right from the beginning. TVUSD students who qualified have at least $500 in their CalKids account, and some might have more. Here are the steps students need to take to claim their account:
Reminder from PBIS - Policy on Running, Horseplay, and Unwanted Physical Contact

In addition, unwanted physical contact of any kind is strictly prohibited at all times, regardless of location or activity. This includes touching, grabbing, pushing, or any other physical behavior that is uninvited or makes another person feel uncomfortable, threatened, or unsafe.
Expectations:
Students are expected to move about campus in a calm and controlled manner, respect personal boundaries, and engage in physical activity only when appropriate and supervised.
Consequences:
Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action consistent with school rules and the student handbook, up to and including suspension.
