Show Choir and 7/8 Singers Pictures are taken in the Winter.

The Vocal Power Class performed songs from around the world. Some chose to sing in another language. We heard a lovely solo Italian song from Zac! Rehearsals in both Music Theatre Workshop classes used scripts for the last time on Friday! They are now officially off book! Sixth Graders continued their Harmony unit this week, reviewing their ukulele chords and strumming. All of the sixth graders passed the second chord check mastering C, F, G, G7, am, Cmaj7, C7, as well as two more strumming patterns.

Families of the performers are invited to attend the Music Theater Workshop performances. All adults need to sign-in at the Main Office with their State ID or Driver's License. Please allow at least a half an hour to sign-in. We cannot hold the performance to wait for latecomers.

This group will be volunteer based and there will not be a membership fee.

Here are some fundraising events Emerson is planning:

-Karaoke night ($5 admission and sell concessions) November 10 3:00 - 4:00 in the MPR

-Mary Poppins Movie night (sell concessions) December 1 3:00 - 4:00 in the MPR

We're going to be raising money to support students in choir and the musical

(offset the cost of Music in the Parks, t-shirts for choir, and items purchased for the musical).

If you're interested in volunteering/supporting planning, please let me know!

It takes a village and I hope we can work together to make the D64 Vocal Music & Theatre Programs the best they can be!

7/8 Singers meets on Thursdays from 3:00 - 4:00

For all members who will be participating in Cross Country, Basketball, or another conflicting Fall activity, there is a morning version from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. on Fridays before school!

The first rehearsal was FANTASTIC!

Show Choir meets every Friday after school during the first and third trimesters! Our Show Choir performs throughout the Chicagoland area and competes in the annual Music in the Parks festival!

Please pay the choral fee at myschoolbucks.com

Thank you!

Only 32 of the 60 scripts have been returned! Any cast member who does not return their script will not be eligible for a script next year.

In the past, Leads have written a note to the next person to play their role. They give advice on how to portray the character, handle performance jitters, and reminisce about their favorite moment. Keep the tradition going!

Return your script so that future productions will have additional scripts!
