2026-2027 OLMC HS Family Update
From the Desk of the Principal
Dear High School Students & Families,
This is an exciting week at Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School! We are looking forward to welcoming middle school students and families to our Open House on Sunday from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM. We will also host a special hour from 9:00–10:00 AM exclusively for current OLMC 8th grade students and families. If you have a current 7th or 8th grader, we hope you have registered to attend, and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
We are also excited for the Homecoming Classic Varsity Football game against Archbishop Curley on Saturday at 3:00 PM at Under Armour Stadium. We hope to see many of our students and families there cheering on the Cougars! You can register for free tickets HERE.
Please be aware that road work will be taking place on Seaford Avenue over the next several weeks. During this time, parking may be limited or prohibited in certain areas. Please pay close attention to all posted signs. Students should park in the school parking lot in the rows closest to the grass soccer field.
As we enter our eighth week of classes, this is also a good time to remind families of several important school procedures:
Late Arrivals and Absences
Students who arrive late to school or are absent must provide a note or have a parent/guardian email Mrs. Pavao at tpavao@olmcmd.org.Early Dismissals
If your student needs to leave school early, please notify Mrs. Pavao at tpavao@olmcmd.org or have your student bring a note to the Main Office that morning. This allows us to provide the student with a pass in advance and helps us avoid interrupting instruction to locate students during class.Meeting with Teachers or Administrators
Parents and guardians who would like to meet with a teacher or administrator are asked to schedule an appointment in advance. You may contact Mrs. Pavao at tpavao@olmcmd.org for assistance or reach out directly to the teacher or administrator. Unscheduled visits can be disruptive to the school day, as teachers are often teaching and administrators may be meeting with students, families, or staff. We are always happy to address questions or concerns and will work with families to schedule a mutually convenient time to speak by phone, email, or in person.Student Devices
All students are required to have a working computer with them each school day. If a student's device is not working, a loaner computer may be borrowed from the Main Office for $10 per day, which will be billed through FACTS. Students who arrive to class without a working device and have not secured a loaner before the school day begins may receive a detention. Having a functioning device each day is a student responsibility outlined in our Student & Family Handbook and is essential for participation in instruction.
Please remember that our Winter Dress Code will begin on November 1. Please refer to page 37 of the Student & Family Handbook for complete guidelines. You can also find an excerpt of the winter dress code for both ladies and gentlemen from the handbook HERE.
Finally, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting an NYC Bus trip to see the Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes on Monday, December 7. We can take up to 45 students and 7 chaperones. All students and chaperones must pay for their ticket which includes round trip coach bus transportation, dinner, and your ticket to the show! To get more information and to sign up, click HERE by October 30!
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Marc Parisi
