From the Principal
As we move into the second quarter, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and partnership. Please remember to check PowerSchool regularly to review your student’s grades and any missing assignments; it’s one of the best ways to stay connected to your child’s progress.
I’m proud to share that our attendance has been excellent so far this year, with only 5% of students missing 10% or more of the school year. Even more exciting, we’ve seen a decrease in course failures compared to the first quarter of 2024. These successes reflect the strong collaboration between our families, the dedication of our staff, and the hard work of our students.
Our community continues to shine in bringing positive experiences into our building. The recent Healthcare Expo was a huge success, giving students a hands-on look at careers in health and wellness for both humans and pets. A special thank-you as well to our Middle School PTO for volunteering their time to help make our end-of-quarter celebrations both fun and memorable.
As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything I can do to support your student or family.

Trojan GRIT
Our students continue to explore and practice the core values of Generosity, Respect, Integrity, and Thoughtfulness throughout our school community. We encourage families to keep the conversation going at home by discussing what these expectations mean and how they can be applied beyond the classroom.
Please see the attached resource for an example of how these values guide positive behavior in our hallways.
Trojan Time
Mrs. Culbertson's 6th grade Trojan Time class made a goal for the 1st Quarter to perform a service to our community. Our students were Generous in supplying treats, showed Integrity and Responsibility as they made their plan, and were Thoughtful with their notes of thanks. They visited COFJD and delivered their appreciation in person!

6-8 students attended the People and Pets Healthcare Expo! Thank you to KCCC Health Tech & Med students, Knox Public Health, and Dr. Kieffer from OSU Veterinary Medicine for inspiring our students to explore healthcare careers.
