Grade Level Updates
Class of 2026 Update
If you need mid-year grades sent out to colleges or the NCAA, please let me know ASAP. I have already sent nearly 200 mid-year reports, but I don't want to miss anyone. If you need a copy for scholarship applications, I can also help you with that.
Good to see that most of you did very well first semester. You only have about 4 months of school left, so finish strong! While it's rare, it's not unheard of for colleges to revoke admission if there is a drastic drop in grades during that final semester. Note I'm not talking about getting a few B's, but if all of a sudden you have D's across the board, it could be a problem. Remove all doubt and keep pushing until the end.
Enjoy your last few months at BHS, know that we are always here for you if you need anything.
Thanks,
Mr. Miner
Class of 2027 Update
It's been a whirlwind since we got back from holiday break - scheduling, ending the first semester and beginning the second, all mixed in with some weather issues and other breaks. Hopefully you've all settled in and things will calm down a bit for a while. I have seen many 11th graders for individual scheduling, and will be finishing up as we head toward the end of February. If your 11th grader hasn't had their individual meeting with me by the end of February.
I have really enjoyed these meetings with students. Hearing about their hopes and dreams for the future is inspirational. Regardless of future plans, this spring and summer is when concrete steps should start being taken to make those dreams a reality. For those wanting to go into skilled trades, it's a good time to start exploring apprenticeships or jobs related to your field. Shadow an electrician, get a job with a heating and cooling firm, or simply talk to that neighbor who works as a diesel mechanic and see what the next steps are to making that happen. If you are college-bound, visiting some schools is highly recommended to get a feel for where you feel comfortable and will get a good education. Most applications open August 1st, so start putting together your "College Resume" and thinking about essays. I can help you with that if you need it.
**There is a rare scholarship opportunity for JUNIOR FEMALES due June 1, 2026.....see the Scholarship section for info!**

Class of 2027 Update
Dear Sophomores,
I hope you are all doing well!
I wanted to let you know that I am currently working through scheduling meetings to plan your courses for junior year. If you have not been called in yet, please do not worry — I promise I will meet with each of you. I am moving through the list as quickly and thoughtfully as possible to make sure everyone gets the attention they deserve.
Also, please mark your calendars: the PSAT 10 will be taking place on April 15th. More details will be shared soon, but it’s important to begin preparing and taking it seriously as it is great practice for future testing opportunities.
Finally, keep pushing yourselves academically. Spring break will be here before you know it, but we still have important learning to accomplish before then. Stay focused, stay motivated, and finish this stretch strong!
If you have any immediate scheduling concerns, feel free to reach out.
Keep up the good work!
Best,
Mrs. Petit
Class of 2028 Update
Freshman-
It has been so great to get to meet with each of you to discuss how your year is going so far, and to start planning for your 10th grade year! I have been so impressed with how many of you have been thinking about what you want to do after high school! I have had many amazing and productive conversations with students about future plans and goals! We will continue to explore these going forward and I can help with suggesting electives based on what your interests are, it is one of my most favorite things to talk about with students!I should be wrapping up with these meetings by the end of the month so if I have not met with you yet, I will see you soon!
Now that we have our first semester in the books, I would encourage you to continue to put your best foot forward. Staying organized and on top of assignments, deadlines and test dates will help you continue to be successful! I am available to help with strategies for staying organized and managing your time if you need help, please do not hesitate to make an appointment to see me.
With the warmer temps we have had this week and seeing some of the snow begin to melt, I can't even believe we are almost to spring! This semester will go by fast! Keep up the hard work!
Mrs. Feliks

Kindness Month: Small Actions, Big Impact
All month long, our school community is celebrating Kindness and Respect. From a social work perspective, kindness isn’t just a nice idea, it’s a powerful protective factor for mental health.
For students, small acts of kindness like inviting someone to sit with them, offering help with schoolwork, or choosing respectful words can create a sense of belonging and safety. Feeling seen and accepted helps reduce stress, anxiety, and feelings of isolation, especially during the busy school year.
For adults, modeling kindness matters just as much. How we speak about others, respond to challenges, and handle mistakes teaches students how to treat themselves and those around them. Kindness doesn’t mean ignoring boundaries or difficulties, but it means approaching situations with empathy, patience, and respect.
This month, we encourage everyone to pause and notice opportunities for kindness:
Toward others, even when it feels hard
Toward ourselves, especially on tough days
And toward our school community, where small choices can make a big difference
Kindness is contagious. One simple act can change the tone of a classroom, a hallway, or even someone’s entire day. Let’s keep kindness and respect at the center of what we do, and not just this month, but all year long!
