Indigenous Peoples' Day is a holiday celebrated in various places in the United States. It is a day to celebrate Native American culture and honor the history of Native American people. Indigenous Peoples' Day is usually held on the second Monday of October which is on the same day as the federal observance of Columbus Day. This year Indigenous Peoples’ Day was observed on Monday, October 13th.

Marlins, this week we’re asking: When is Indigenous People’s Day celebrated in the United States? Place one answer slip in a Cultural Corner box by the end of the school day this Thursday for your chance to win a prize. Your Student Council members will select 1 primary and 1 upper grade student from a raffle during Friday morning announcements.
