The McAuliffe Shuttle
Week of August 31, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear Team McAuliffe,
What an incredible first week it has been! From the moment our students lined up outside on that very first morning, the energy and excitement were contagious. It was inspiring to watch our classrooms come alive with teamwork, curiosity, and joy as we launched into our #1st3Days together.
As we move forward, the foundation we’ve built during these first days will carry us through the year ahead. Students are already showing us who they are as learners and teammates, and teachers are hard at work creating classroom communities where every child feels valued and supported. The growth we will see this year starts with these small but powerful beginnings.
I want to thank you for the trust you place in us each day. It is a privilege to partner with you in your child’s education, and together, we are ensuring that every student has what they need to succeed. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, ideas, or concerns—we are truly stronger when we work side by side.
Enjoy the rest of this week’s edition of The Shuttle for important updates and celebrations. As you are reading, please reach out to danderson@lowell.k12.ma.us with any questions.
One Team! One Goal! No Limits!

School Bus Transportation Information
School bus transportation is provided to students in grades K-4, who live greater than .75 mile from their residence or alternate address to their assigned school. Middle school students (grades 5-8) must live greater than 1.5 miles from their residence or alternate address to their assigned school.
Kindergarten through 4th grade students will receive a printed bus pass via postal mail. These passes will be mailed out on Tuesday, August 19th. You can also look up your student's bus pass information by using their Student ID for the username and date of birth for the password at the link below. This is the same information that students use to log in to their Chromebooks for school and it will also be available on Tuesday.
Please note that Kindergarten and 1st grade students must have an older sibling (4th grade or older) or parent present at the bus stop in the afternoon in order to depart from the school bus. If a parent or older sibling is not present, the student will be brought to the Moody School, located at 158 Rogers Street. A driver’s license or valid identification must be presented to the staff in order to dismiss the student.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
School Drop-Off Logistics
- Arrival begins at 9:10 each day. The late bell rings at 9:25.
- Please drive slowly down the driveway toward the school as it will be busy with people walking and cars stopping to drop off their students.
- As you approach the crosswalk, a staff member will direct you to one side of the island or other. Please be sure to follow these directions for the safety of staff and students and to keep traffic flowing.
- Drive all the way down to the end of the sidewalk.
- Once you have reached the end of the island or sidewalk, a staff member will come to open your door to help your student out of the car.
- Please ensure your child is ready to go and do not get out of the car so we can keep traffic moving.
- If you are planning to walk your student to the doors, please park along the curb and walk them down to the school. Please do not stop in either of the drop-off lanes to get out and walk your child to the door. Also, please do not park in handicap spots without a proper placard. We have many students and parents who need these spots.
Student Pick-Up Logistics
- Team McAuliffe dismisses at 3:30pm.
- Pre-K Students are dismissed through the doors at the end of the Early Childhood wing.
- Kindergarten - 4th Grade Students are dismissed under the overhang at the Robinson School.
- Park your car somewhere along the U-shaped driveway and walk down to the Robinson to let your child's teacher know that you are there. Please do not park in the coned area nearest the Robinson.
- Please do not pull your child from the line as they are walking toward the Robinson.
- Do not stop under the overpass to let passengers out of your car or to call for your student to come to the car. Students will not be dismissed to cars that stop under the overpass.
